Thread: Help with Vendor Initialization and a question about statues...

Hi, I have a house that I'm setting up with a friend as a shop. They placed the building and made me an admin. They go to the control center and get a vendor, slap it down, initialize it, and viola! It's all set.

I do the same thing, and I keep getting the message, "Vendor not initialized."

No matter what I do, that's all I get...

What do I need to do to make a vendor work in this building?? Help!

Also - question about statues. I see that they are on the list of items we can supposedly make, but even as a master architect, I cannot make them. Do you have to be a novice politician or be in front of a special crafting station? I try the personal one and nada. I get nothing.

Appreciate any and all help and direction! Thank you!!

ok, on the issue of the vendor, what you do is put it down. Then initialize. After it is initialized, use the /rotate <left/right> <1-180>

*look of total amazement mixed with boggled cocked head to side like dog looking at you*

OMG... that worked! But once I initialize it, it says it can't be moved! I don't understand how or why that works, but WHOO HOO! thank you! =) Now I can stop banging my head on the side of this generic house!!! (I incapped myself at least twice doing that! =)

It'd seem logical to place the vendor, rotate it, THEN initialize it. I mean, once you initialize it, it says it can't be moved, which would 'logically' lead me to believe you can't rotate it, but as you said, LO and behold, you place it, initialize it, then rotate it, and viola!

I searched the threads for an answer and couldn't find much. I will share this info with others. Thank you again very much for your help, and putting up with us people who keep asking! May the force ALWAYS be with you =)

I'm sorry I have to reply to this.. I can't believe a player knows the fix and the DEVS don't.

I say that because this happened to me. And my friend. BOth vendors in two seperate homes wouldn't 'initialize' so I bugged it....

Heres what CS told me:

This is a known issue. The workaround is to destroy the vendor over and over, each time going outside, coming back in, and making a new vendor...

You know, your fix worked and theirs didn't...

Shows how much CS is on top of things with DEVs

Statues are part of the Construction line and do require that you near a crafting station.

You don't have to be a novice politician to craft or to place these inside buildings.

Statues are listed in the 'Furniture' side of your crafter. Look at the very bottom: Street lamps/Statues/Gardens

Also, I make these standing in my CH without a crafting station anywhere close by.

Correction on my last post,

That should have said: Street Lamps/Statues/Fountains =)
