Thread: Renewable Income Idea
Maybe this idea has come up before, but with a addition of player cities this could work. How about a schematic (probably at Master) to create an Apartment building. It could take up 6 lots, and the owner could setup a rent. The owner would be responsible for paying maintence, but all credits paid for rent would go into the building account for the owner to access. It would be nice to have actual windows that you can see the landscape out of. These apartments could be one or two rooms each. Maybe even have an owner suite with a roof top garden. This would be a great way to get a higher number of people within your city radius. Let me know what you think, or am I just insane?

Also, what if the owner decided to pull up deed? Does everyone lose their stuff? And if he isn't allowed to reclaim the deed while people live there, what if one of the residents goes into limbo for some reason? (Starts playing on a different server or whatever). Even with an option to evict, that still doesn't provide a fair way to handle their stuff.
It's a good idea, just some tricky things to work out before it could happen, I think..
I thought about an /evict command, and what could be done is that there is a terminal in the "lobby" of the building (similar to a bank deposit box) where you would be able to pick up all your items if you were evicted. Plus you would only be able to /evict someone if their rent pool got to zero. The terminal could also be a directory of who lives in which apartment, and if there are any vacancies. It could be set up that you either need the owners (landlords) permission to get a room or you could just move into any vacant one. All apartments would have to be empty in order to redeed the building. I thought this might be a good idea for guilds to have a close knit city.
