I am an MA like you all. I have made everything in the game that I can make and have sold tons of it on my vendors. I have months and months of funds if I never sell another thing.
Now I am going to get a Holocron as a gift. Gesh.
I do not have the skill points to go down this path with out giving up the things that make the game fun for me. To operate as an MA I must have the present skill set and none of it inclueds fighting.
There needs to be another way to unlock the Jedi slot. No clue as to what it is but this mastering a lot of different professions is for the birds unless it can be done within your own profession some way. ie you have proven that you are a master indeed not just a grinder but a master of your profession.

It is possible to master most professions without dropping architect (or with dropping only one tree). When my first holocron told me combat medic, I was a little dissapointed, but better than BH. So, I gradually dropped pistols IV, dropped merchant, all of artisan but engineering, and all of scout. I was able to master CM with dropping the furniture tree. I had master architect back in about an hour or less making statues and fountains. It's a bit of a pain.. but it's not IMPOSSIBLE to work along the path to jedi without giving up on the skills that are most important to you. There are many professions that require only one branch of a novice tree to qualify for, and the skill points for that really aren't that hard to come up with. ^_^ It doesn't hurt to at least use a holocron and find out before you start freaking out about skill points, right?
You're certainly in the position to have the materials to regain any skills you were to surrender.
Your general idea makes sense, but I fail to see how they would impliment it.
