not a bad idea, lemme build onto it though.

Harvestors can operate from 100% down to about 50%, below 50 and they stop running (but still burn maintance). From 75% to 50% they harvestor suffers from slow downs, maybe randomly changes harvested resource, or accidently dumps the hopper. Now the operator can put money into the harvestor but only to stop further decay, they'd have to get an arch to come out and facilitate repairs.

The arch, upon arriving at the scene is granted admin access to the machine. Using a Structure repair tool, the arch can swap out components in the harvestor that were damaged due to the neglect. Additional bonus is that the arch can improve the harvestors performance by using better components than had been in it.

Additionally the harvestor operator can call upon various other professions to improve performance of their harvestor. A master artisan would be able to apply additional lubricants to temporarly reduce maintence costs, or a bio engineer might provide some genetic growth enhancers to flora harvestors to increase their yield.

Just like in real life, If you don't upkeep your home from the simple things it eventually deteriorates until you call a professional in, right? I can't count how many times I've been on my speeder and have seen someone's harvestors on fire and etc. I believe that once The condition on any home or structure falls below 100% the homeowner can no longer sink money into it to fix it. They'll have to call an architect to repair the item and the architect can transfer the credits given to him into time on the maintenance.. It sounds stupid but a thought..

I have been looking at the Architect profession and considering it. I am not a holo grinder and have been trying to find something that I will enjoy playing. So, that said, here is my perspective one this:

Would architectsreally beinterested inrunning out to east bumble to fix houses for a few credits? Consider the responseif you tried talking a doc into running out to your house to heal your constitution wounds? Many of the architects who post on this forum do not even want to be bothered with making certain structures, let alone making house calls.

And while I have no money, I have yet to see very many poor architects, so I do not think the general playing population would fall in love with the idea of having to pay (or most likely overpay because of the aggravation) an architect to repair their home.

Just my 2cr

I would have to agree with KrakenWar. One of the last things I would want is have hundreds of more tells from people asking or bagging me to come out to there house/Harvesters and make repairs. Secondly this suggestion still even hit close to a renewable income we would want.

The renewable income that most architects want is something or some reasons why player will need to come back to use and buy house, furniture, harvesters and other city structures. We not looking for new abilities or items that we can make over and over again as they are need to repair structures or furniture but to resell items to our customers that they have already bought, replace the older items with newer ones, as well as a way to insure that older items aren’t sought after or as useful as the newer items.

I’m complete against another decay factor onto houses, harvesters and city structures, the maintains we pay on those items is to repair them over there operational life.

I feel that we should be asking for is that structural durability on furniture and house to mean something. If these items would effect the maintains cost and would slowly increase over the life of the object, we would have our renewable income.

As we have it now, our profession has it the easiest. Most of the items we make, the stats on the materials we use don’t have any effect on the final product and very few items require specialized resources like the other crafting profession, but then I guess you could say that’s balanced out by the large amounts of resources need to make our items too.

That’s my 2 cents on the topic.

Check out the "Top 5" threads. There's a good discussion on renewables / consumables for architects. Add your ideas there.
