Thread: Structure Pricing vs. UXP
Hello Architects.
I was wondering if you all plan on selling your structrues for the largest amount of credits you can get or if you plan on selling them for the minimum amount of credits you require to maintain your harvestors.
You now need to create many, many deeds to gain xp and alot of xp is given when people use the deeds so it may be on your best interest to sell them for less than others.
I know some people want to sell one small house deed per day for 10K while others want to sell one per hour for 5K. The prices in Beta were surely different than they will be in release since credits are now alot more rare because missions pay alot less.
As someone who plans to buy a house, I have to agree that 5K seems a little low. I think as a baseline, calculate cost at 3cr/resource and then add in a 30% markup.
As I am not an architect, I don't know the total number of resources involved. Anyone know. If so, what does the baseline cost come out to be?
Personally, since the required structure XP has been bumped up, I'll probably be selling structures for cost. I know there's all this talk about making sure we can make a decent profit. However, in the interests of leveling fast and getting the advanced mining equipment - if I can sell stuff for just enough money to keep the experience flowing - that's what I'm going to do.
My early goals are leveling - not getting rich. That makes a difference in what I call a "fair" price. Sure - I'll state a higher price than I need, but any smart buyer will be able to haggle me down to something less.
Well personally my first 60 or so houses are beign give away to my PA mates for free. By time i get around to selling houses on the market ill already be a master architect so exp wont meen crap to me so i will be selling the houses for what they are worth any architect that doesnt do this is only gonna screw themselves and all the rest of us over in the long run cause only place prices go in these games are down so we need to set our starting price astronomically high for us to be able to keep making a profit in the future.
Thank you for your time in this matter,

Because of UXP, i will either be selling cheap, or placing and destroying them.
so, 5-10k would be great to get for a house ..
you guys must consider, money is not as easy to get now, as it once was.
and IMO i think for the first two weeks to a month people will be spending more on skills than structures.
in one to two week factories will be in demand.. small houses will be luxury items untill the the crafters get to the point where "a private crafting station" is required.
after a month, the average guy might want a house ...
i'll gladdly sell small houses all day long for 10k each, and if you bring me some ore, .. well, we can deal ![]()
In beta Houses priced as such
Small House 10 - 20k
Medium House 50 - 80k
Large House ~ 100k
PA Hall 250k - 500k
Factories were selling between 35 - 40k
Personaly i think that get what ever people are willing to pay. early on in the game is is a sellers market so you might as well get rich before it turns to buyers market.
As far as XP goes for a architect it comes pretty fast 500xp for a structural unit. There are 10 structural units needed for small house or 1 wall unit and 6 wall units in medium house and 10 wall units in a large house there are 17 wall units in a PA hall. All these structures require other resourses as well.
Hope this helps and Good luck out there.
What you are failing to consider is that during beta, there were a hundred different kinds of bugs that made it fairly simple for players to accumulate large amounts of cash. For awhile, it was very simple to make as much as 10K credits in an hour.
That isn't possible anymore, not by a long shot. If you are solo, and wipe a camp of NPC's, you might possibly pick up 200-300 credits out of their pockets. You could just as easily get nothing. Delivery missions now pay less than it costs you to run them. They are only there to help with the cost of you traveling to another town or planet.
Destroy missions are still tough. Some of them pay fairly well, but if you are grouped, you have to split the cash, and if you are solo, you may have to suffer a few incap's or deaths before you finish one.
Resources - yeah, you can sell resources. Hides, Bones, Meat - medics need these right away to make medicines. Minerals will soon be in demand as well. But with the number of artesians/architects out there, prices will be very very low. Take a look at the survey on the main page. Nearly everyone who is playing started out as an artesian. Supply and demand will dictate pricing - and I suspect for the first few weeks, there will be so much supply that you will have trouble giving away any product, no matter what it might be.
After awhile, when the skills balance out so that not everyone you meet on the street is an artesian or architect, maybe prices will stabilize at some level of profitability. Sooner or later people will need to turn in skill points to concentrate on the upper skill trees - that is when we will begin to see the economy working.
2460 Ore, 860 Metal, 18 Chemical, and 50 Steel.
That's 3388 in resources and 4 types. I think 5k is WAY underpriced. I think 10k is low as well. However there will always be people selling for next to nothing that will wreck the economy.
The problem is this is a game, and no one will 'keep the books' so if their business is unprofitable they will find other ways of making money, or level slower, or whatever. All it takes is one in ten (or twenty)architects to sell at 2k to ruin it for everyone.
Ask a fair price, get it if you can. Good luck to all of you.

I'll be asking at least 20k for a small.
And if I see anybody selling at 5k, I'll buy as many as I can and resell them at 20k. That's quick easy profit, even if I don't get the UXP, and I'll need that money to keep up my house and harvesters.
If you won't charge what the market will bear, somebody else will.
