Server economies are all over the map. Specific architects are all over the map. Some architectshave a high-volume, low-price business model, whereas others have a higher-priced, high availability or "consulting" business model, as well as other models.

If you are an architect looking to establish your own pricing, read through some of the posts here to develop your own idea of your business model.

If you are a customer of architects looking to get a price survey, then you will be much better off posting this on your galaxy trade boards to get comments from the people who can actually sell you something on your server given it's economy.

As a rule, going to an architect and saying "well, on the XXX server they sell this for $Y" is more likely to result in you being shown the door rather than you getting any sort of price break.
