Thread: Improve Architect Profession Curious Suggestion

That might actually be kinda cool, no one would go crazy 'cause their harvester blew up and the architects could make some money. Only problem is what if you are a big time producer for months and you sold 10,000 harvies? You'd be making millions a day...



First the Nazis came for the Communists, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. i really like that idea. where we get like 2% of the maintence or something, and you still have to be architect. now it going into the city treasury if they forfeit the architect class is something i probably wouldnt do. but i like the overall idea of it.

Yeah, I had to add that in because I would see that people might want to grind up architect and pump out some structure and surrender the skill for something else but yet still earn the money. So, if the skills is gone, might as well make use of it especially for the city they are support. Just a thought

I don't think the devs will give us an unlimited cash machine. There is no other profession that can generate money with no work. True there is no other profession that makes things that don't decay.....

The person have to maintain the profession in order to get the money. We could add it a money decay factor were after certain period, they will stop obtaining money from that structure. Similar to UXP

I definitely support this idea. Rather than the money going all into the maintanence of the building, I feel that there should be modifer which allows some of that money to go to the person who built the building.

I've been pondering and from what I gathered the architect is a non-popular profession because the item simply does not decay or lose value.

For example, someone purchase a house and would continue to use the house for a year. He got no additional need to purchase another house. Versus someone who purchase a weapon, use the weapon, but continue to purchase more weapons.


Would it be safe and good suggestion to say, if someone purchase the house, pay maintenace into that house, the crafter of that house would automatically earn 2% - 5% of the maintenance of that house. The condition being that person must still remain as architect for the money to be earned? So if that person is a Novice Architect he/she will earn 2% up to he/she being a master architect he/she will earn 5%. This applies to all houses and living structure they manufacter and sold?


In addition, for each harvester / factories they use and pump in maintenance, the crafter of that earn from 1% - 3% (restriction similar to above)


The moment that crafter is no longer an architect, he will forefit the funds to the declare city treasury he/she is in. If he/she is of no part of a city, then he/she forefit the funds and the owner / person using the structure will no longer be charge any penalty?


Just a curious wild thought. Let me know your comments.
