Hi all,

I don't know how many others do this but I add the serial number to the name of all the sub components I run so it makes it easy to identify different batches.

While this is easy to do I have been told many crafters do this, I would love to see them add a button to the naming part of crafting to put the serial number in for you. It's only a small thing but it would be great little addition and I bet fairly easy to do.

I know it's not a big deal to type it in yourself but it's just a simple thing to make life a little easier.

I actually think that the serial number is pretty awkward.

What I do with all of my components is to put the date and (sometimes) some resource appreviations on them.

So, I have:

OMU +100% 0316

SSSM Abc 0527

SM XyzQef 0605

I can tell batches at a glance. I can tell how old the schematics are (to see which ones may be obsolete). I can tell quickly what resource I need to grab to make more of them. And for ones where quality matters I can tell what my going-in base is.

I do a similar thing for important componenets too, but for items where all I want is a way to tell the batches appart I just copy the game generated unique serial number as it's convienently right there. I just thought it would be nice to add the one extra step of clicking a buttone to add it in for you.

Ive started appending the date and the number I made, eg Struct Storage Module 6-29 250

that way when I run out I can estimate whether I made to few or too many the last time (say im aiming to make a months worth at a time)

Guess we all have our own methods of labeling batches of components I wonder if they could add some % command like there is for chat that could add different extras to the name, like %SS to add serial no, %DD for date %TT time etc.
