As an inexperienced player, can anyone tell me how much better medium mining installations are than personal extractors?

The medium mineral extractors get twice the resources of a small extractor. But they also take twice the credits and power to maintain.

About the only advantage is they take just one lot. And obviously, 5 Mediums are easier and quicker to maintain than 10 smalls.

Disadvantage is that small extractors cost around 1K, but mediums cost anywhere from 8-15K each.

They provide twice the harvesting power with half the lots. So if you had 2 PME's harvesting a res, it wuld be the same as having 1 Medium
