Thread: Crit failure complaint.
I really think the dev's need to look at this again or see about making them so they don't leave us with nothing.
In 2 days I have crit failed on the following: 1 Pa Hall, 4 Walls, 8 Structure Modules and 3 small houses...I've lost so much in resources that I am not comptemplating surrendering this profession to find something else that isn't so depressing...and for instance, this was 'in a row'. I'd make all the components, fail on final combine...make all the components...fail on final combine...with an occasional fail in between.
My tools and crafting station were all make with 970+ quality matieral with all other stats over 600+...so I don't get it...
This is just redicious that a master would fail so much...and as for server lag, there was little..all combines were quick...all materials used were between 700 and 950 quality..with the highest quality being saved for final combines.
Anyway, I think I am now done..I am going to make more buildings for our pa and wait for our other architects to get to master and decide then...hopefully our correspondant can get the dev's to look at this. I understand there needs to be crit fails...makes perfect sense...I think the ratio is too random or too high.
I really did like the profession.
Well..you see..no one really knows 100% for sure...I've asked and read alot..and the best I can come up with is that some say it does...some say it does not.
I figured..what the heck...it sure can't hurt ![]()
On the final combine, make **edit** sure you are using the HIGHEST Unit Toughness giving resources as possible (at least for architechs that is).
Architch schematics for the most part only depend on the Unit Toughness property of a resource to determine the quality of a product. Overall Quality does absolutely nothing.
I have yet to fail on anything more than a subcomponent since using the high UT method.
as for the tools. There is a difference in good tools and bad tools.
I have noticed that all tools (depending on resources used), the success rate at assembly came out about the same with the same percentages.
But...when experimented on, is when i noticed the largest difference. I had WAY more successful experimentations with a good tool than a bad tool.
In my case a good tool is a 89% experimented efficiency and a bad tool was a plain jane no experimented tool.
I have made....6 medium naboo houses, 20 medium harvesters, 2 heavy mineral harvesters. all without a failure during the entire process. (i did fail a wall module while trying to make a schematic but i was kinda expecting it to be honest)
My skills are as follows.
Furniture 4, Installations 4, Buildigns 2. thats it. No construction at all.
I have also found that you can get away with using cheap materials for subcomponents because they dont seem to affect the final combine at all. (at least in my experience.)
The only time resources seem to truely make a difference is the final assembly. Make sure you are using high UT property resources and you shouldnt have a problem with crit fails.
BTW....before i finally got ahold of some great resources, i was failing 9 out of 10 wall modules. (i swear. i even put in a ticket about this because i thought it was messed up)

I can be making structural modules, ALL with great or amazing success, and then crit fail on two in a row.
I'm sure crit failures in SWG are just like trivial failures in Everquest. You're going to crit fail a certain percentage of the time no matter what you do.

I hadn't ever heard/read or noticed anything on UT material. I will proceed with further builds based on that strategy and see how it affects things.
Don't get me wrong...I have gone through long periods of time where I have had no crit fails...but then I seem plagued with them for days and days in a row...
maybe its something based with materials and UT I honestly hadn't thought to try that attribute.
I have noticed that it does seem to be final combine materials that make the biggest diference on things, didn't seem to matter whether the sub components were cheap or not...

On the bottom right of schematic selection, it will tell you the properties that are considered for that device.
you may have to scroll down to see it.
Most of the architech needs Unit Toughness.
Most of artisan useus conductivity and quality.
Just browse through them next chance you get and you will see what im talking about.
