Thread: Heavy Harvesters case studies / data points
I've been getting Ber 13's without any problems...actually, if they weren't capped, I'd be getting Ber 14 out of them. I get 8 or 9 experiment blocks on them and can stop experimenting with one open block and still get Ber 13's. Just means one more point to put in the hopper.
I've been using kammris iron and/or steel with UT/SR/HR 920+
The experiment proves:
1.) you can experiment just till you hit 6 on the sub component, but you better have the best resources available (points of 990+)for the final combine orthere is virtually no chance ofhitting BER13. 990+ is a very good arch resource.
or
2.) experiment fully onthe sub component and you'll be fine hitting BER13 with several points left for storage.
New architects read theFAQ sticky as well for more tips like this.

i am an 12pt architect, and also an big resource gatherer on ahazi. and the more storage in harvetser the better.
if i were to buy harvester(assume i werent architect) i would always look for 120k+ hoopers. and would easlily pay 5-20k exstra for thoose.
always get the mining units-mechanism etc to as high as you can. more points for storage.. ![]()
I try to have 950+ points in the mining unit, which yields 95% experimented efficiency. This is almost always good enough to yield a BER 13 with 8 experimentation points in the final assembly. It is not necessary to use stuff in the 990+ range on all relevant attributes. Sticking with the class-7 resources of the relevant types (Duralloy, Kammris, Vintrium, and Katrium), especially with a little attention to the below-average outliers for the classes, usually works for me.
I am currently a 12-pt, buthad the same experiencewhen I was a 10-pt as well. The extraassembly and experimentation points give you a bit of a leg up, but are not essential, especially for factory producers. The research city bonus makes a big difference in experimentation critical fails, IMO. I've been using 14.9+ crafting tools and good crafting stations for so long that I can't really tell what difference they make.
