I tried searching the boards before I posted this to see if this has been asked before but had no luck.
I bought some really cool green streetlamps last night that looked great in my house...for about 10 mins. Then they suddenly went out. I logged on today and they are still out.
Does anyone know how to rectify this? They looked so great...

Streetlamps only light at night, no matter where they are placed. When it is dark outside they will be on.

Do a Cntl-Shift-G to turn on a display that has, among other things, your "world time". I think that the lamps are on from about 11pm (23:00) to 5:00am or thereabouts. (Cntl-Shift-G is a toogle for this.)

Am I correct in assuming that the world time is the same for everyone? So, if I can't see them..nobody can?

Yep - when it's dark outside it's dark for everyone.
I think I read someplace that the "world" operates about 8X the speed as the "physical world". That is, in 3 hours it makes a complete 24 hour cycle. I haven't checked it but if you watch that display for a few minutes it's cooking along pretty good.
