Thread: Heavy mineral mining installation
ok so i just got installation 4 and was excited about the new mineral extractor...
now once i saw the material list for that i almost flipped...
i just want to know if im correct on this
the total amount of ressource needed would be:
Steel: 4300
Metal: 7480
Chemical: 500
Low Grade Ore: 15400
Copper: 500
Carbonate Ore: 500
Non-Ferrous Metal: 300
Aliminium: 1000
Inert Gas: 150
-------------------
Total: 30130
this is counting the identical parts too
Looks about right. What do you want us to say about it? That it is expensive to build these? Well yes, they are expensive to build. I am a Master and I have only 3 of these bad boys and one reactor.
Do not build them if you are seeking XP still. All the identical parts will rob you of XP. Wait till you are a Master and then XP means nothing.
But building them will get you ore and exp faster. I built three soon as I could and it helped a lot.
I've got 27,770 resources as the requirement that I'd written down. One of us is wrong and if it's me, I need to raise my prices a bit. :/

What is your price on a Heavy Mineral miner?

As for XP i think its actually better to get these before
I went directly to installation 4 first only for that, i started the character 3 days ago, going fast so far and i also want to get master weaponsmith and armorsmith as well, its a crafting account me and a friend bought for all of our needs.
And I wanted to know if my count was good, since there is a million pieces to build i wasnt sure if i got it right and i was pretty sleepy, so im probably wrong. Would fun to see a website with the info on ressources to build each thing, if anyone know of 1, pls let me know.
I checked my math list. I had 1 too many "0" in 300 at one point bringing down the count by 2700
now its:
Steel: 1600
Metal: 7480
Chemical: 500
Low Grade Ore: 15400
Copper: 500
Carbonate Ore: 500
Non-Ferrous Metal: 300
Aliminium: 1000
Inert Gas: 150
-------------------
Total: 27430
Now I am a bit lower than you guys, ill check again

Deed for Heavy Min. Mining Installation
15400 Low Grade Ore
7480 Metal
1540 Steel
1000 Aluminum
500 Chemical
500 Copper
500 Carbonate Ore
400 Reactive Gas
300 Non-Ferrous Metal
150 Inert Gas
27,770
However that does not take into account the materials lost making the schematic or the factory eating 1 component.
3000 add 1 wall for schematic
250 add 1 structural module lost in factory
1450 add 1 generator for schematic
130 add 1 storage module for schematic
595 add 1 mining unit for schematic
33,195
Failures eat about 30% of my resources, so add another 30%
43,153 is the total resource figure I use after modifying it for material losses.
There are economies of scale if you make more with the schematics, but I have never had a spare 100k of ore to do a good size run. Factories don't fail, so my failure rate might be a little lower using factory components, but failures seem to increase on the higher end stuff, so it might even out.

Do I need a private station for these? It doesn't say so in the schematic description (it says specialized crafting tool and crafting station).
Am I missing something?
