Thread: An idea for an economy churner. Actually a couple.

Okay, this actually applies to all the crafter professions, but I'm an (in game) architect, so I decided to post it here.

Things we need. Architect only first.

Let us select the color of our couches. That's all, let us choose something besides orange for the seat cushions, and let us choose a different color for the frame too.

Basically, give architects a color chooser for when making furniture. It'd be nice if we could designate the color of our houses too, but that might be asking a bit, (since it has been suggested that the final structure isn't really tied to the deed anyway, except as a means to getting it.)

Now for the general idea.

Give EACH crafting profession 8 new models per month. They don't have to be fancy, They don't have to be significantly different than what we already have, just look different.

Perhaps let us hold 3x the number of models we have, and require us to turn in old models to some NPC to receive its new replacement.

Why? So people can decide they want a new style potted plant to go with their new model droid. So people can decide to purchase the new style armor, still the same TYPE of armor, just different skins, to suit their mood.

And so everyone won't be living in a copy of the same 10 small houses and however many medium and large models there are.

Not better, just different, so people with money to burn can decide that "Ohhh... I like THAT one better."

8 models a month, per crafter profession, or two per week per profession, (might rotate the tiers, 2 tier 1 on the first week, and 2 tier 4 on the last week, of every month,) or about56 new models a month. Abouttwo a day, that just LOOK different.

Of course, if the stats were SLIGHTLY different, in base, that'd be good too.

More trophies to build, so everyone is constantly chasing after the latest of everything.

How many ways can YOU envision a model that involves a recriprocating rod stuck in the ground, surrounded by a boxy structure, and emitting smoke? How about if you decided to vary the shape of the footprint too... (Now there's an idea. Harvesters for those hard to fit locations. Houses that are small,,,and two story...but only because the bottom level is just an elevator and stilts...and an x shaped footprint that fits around most small obstructions.)

Just the stuff we can already build...but with more and more variation as time passes.

I've got to admit, I do like the idea. I don't know how much work it is for the art department, but that would certainly keep the market alive. You could even stretch the idea further and suggest housing style changes over time as well.

On the other hand, that may be their intention all along. This game is so young yet.

Excellent idea, I never understood why we couldn't change the color of some of the furniture. A few new schematics a month would be excellent and a good alternative to the decay issue. So our stuff doesn't decay but people will want the latest and greatest and throw out their old couch for the new. There could be special schematics that would be discontinued so only a certain amount could be made. This would help with the market flooding problem. This would also make the profession alot more exciting in my opinion. I know i'm getting sick of crafting the same thing over and over and over again. All I know is we definitly need something new on a regular basis.

Melons was too much for the database. Can only imagine what this pipe dream will do.

I like it though. I think we should call this the Idea of Neverending Bugs.

^it's about volume not unqiness bro^

all these ideas would cost is time.. and the one thing they'll never give us: more download space! *downloading collors of the textures*

Another idea for the list. This one is more of a band-aid.

Replace the factional buildings with two new lists. Critical components, (purchased each time with faction points,) which are half as much as the old factional structures they replace, and schematics for those old factional structures, (priced at twice the old amount, but reusable.)

Let ANYONE get the schematics. Let ANYONE get the critical components.

Make sure the schematics list items from the architect pallete of components.

Walls, structural modules, power plants, etc.

Of course, this assumes that these structures are battlefield-only temporary structures. If they're not, add a line of temporary structures to match the permanent list.

Now, architects may not be able to sell a house everyday, (since the existing ones will "keep on ticking",) but maybe we'll be able to unload a few walls, storage modules, and such.

This idea also applies to tailors. Costumes. Short duration, (dissappears according to a calendar,) clothes, that can be made with schematics as normal, but which are for a certain purpose.

Masqued balls, for instance.

Of course, the fact that armorsmiths need items from tailors, and armor DOESN'T last forever, means that tailors aren't quite in the same boat.

I like the color idea, but I would rather have new content than new models. Let the Devs spend time working on player cities and player vehicles and not worry about changing the look of things.

The game is 5 weeks old, people can't be tired of stuff already. I think 8 new models every 6 months or year or would begreat, but not each month.

Fix the bugs, then worry about pretty stuff. The broken admin function on houses is killing me.
