Thread: Ideas on how to get my money back
Hi, I'm a master architect, and I have decided that they don't care about my profession and I am going to quit the game. I was one of the optimists when this game was released and I signed up for 1-yr. I no longer wish to play because I don't think that the product should have been pushed out of beta this quickly. It is too fundamentally flawed to justify my investment. I am trying to get a refund of my remaining 10 months investment.
Do you guys have any idea how I could go about doing that? My emails to SOE have not generated a reply.
Thanks for any ideas that you might have...This game had so much promise when I first started playing, but at least to me, it has been a major dud.
Investment?
How much do you pay to go to the movies for 2 hours entertainment? How much did you play SWG before you quit?
Money back? ( rolls eyes )
I don't know how you can get your money back from SOE, but why don't you at least try another profession. You never know, you may actually like being a profession other than architect. What the heck, you've already paid for a year, try other aspects of the game before you quit.

I don't see how you were wronged. You bought it on the assumption that the playstyle would suit you, you even signed up for a year in the hopes that if it didn't at first then it would later. Now you wanna bail.
The game has some problems yes, but truthfully it seems you just want your money back because it didn't turn out the way you want as opposed to the game being inherently flawed in some way that makes it totally unplayable for you.
Your best bet would be to the read the "EULA" or End User License Agreement that you agree to everytime you go play. Chances are they covered themselves in that like they do with most other games. You aren't guaranteed you'll like it, and you aren't guaranteed you'll get to play 100% of them time.
You can also go to their home page, when I was a CSR for Everquest there was a portion of the FAQ that spoke of refunds, reimbursals etc. If they're similar, you're out of luck.
there is no way to get refends its in thier eula
it says (paraphrasing here)that "the item is sold as is with bugs etc"
friend paid for a year when eq first came out and was not able to get it back and they quoted thier eula to him

I dont blame SOE, he signed a contract for a year. what incentive do they have to refund that?
Iwouldnt sign up for a year until I was sure I would actually play that long, I have seen the game now, Im sure now, at least a year probably more.
