Thread: Architect questions.. making wall modules

When looking at the requirements for a wall module, it requires 10 "similar" cinder blocks. How important is that? I'm a novice architect, and was planning on grinding cinder blocks and stockpiling them. Gives me the experience I need, and items I'll be able to use later. But if the stockpiled items are of varying quality, does that do me any good?

My mid-term goal is to supply wall modules as a way to advance and earn some income. But it's a little confusing.. because to make, say, a heavy harvester - don't the modules need to be similar, and come from a factory? Which doesn't give nearly the exp.

What it boils down to is, I hear of people advancing and making a living as an aspiring architect by supplying wall modules. But if they have to be factory made, for the larger items, I don't see how that could work.. just because the experience gained from a factory is almost nil.. (from what I've read).

Could anyone shed some light on this?

Nope, similar is as similar does. Each Structural Module can be made from different materials if you want. Similar means a wall module = a wall module.

And someone told me heavy harvesters required a factory.. Medium chemical extractors, too. What items are there that require items to be similar then? ie. from a factory crate?

So just to be clear then, quality of wall modules doesn't matter? And I can sell 10 wall modules of varying quality, and they'll be just as valuable as 10 out of a crate?

Oops...

---- "What items are there that require items to be similar then? ie. from a factory crate?"

I meant.. What items are there that require *wall modules* to be similar then.

Similar does not need to be from a factory crate, only identical does.

Similar is meaningless, you can make the walls from totally different materials and they will still work.

In fact, I don't believe there are any structures that require "identical" wall modules.

Well, not anymore. They used to require identical walls, but not anymore.

You still need factory made components for the other pieces of heavy installations, as well as large houses and PA halls.
