I want everyone to read this post.

3 cpu is NOT somehard coded number, it is an open economy, people can set their own prices. Yes even me, yes even you!

Bravo! You will make good sales and strong profits, if you ever get to 2cpu might even buy some.

uuumm 2.5 is not that far from 3 cr ??

Its not like hes selling it for 1-1.5 credits

3cr is the standard rate going for resources , if you cant see that , IGNORANCE IS BLISS THEN

Thanks for the information, and this is not a personal attack against you.

Sorry, but that is WAY overpriced, at least from an architect stand point. It is gouging an already hurting profession.

Why is that? Well, if I have to resort to buying that, I will be PAYING TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE HOUSES. Thats right, I will be paying for the privilege to build someone something.

If I have to buy ore for 2.5 cpu, that means I would have buy 3200 or so units at 8000 credits. That means, just to break even, work for free, and simply cover the cost of my materials, I have to sell my small house at 8k. If I try to sell a small house at 8k, I get a "LOL you are a cheat and a ripoff, I can buy those for 6k off of so and so."

So if I am a cheat and ripoff for selling a house at 2.5 cpu, then whats that make you for selling the ore for 2.5 cpu?

Sorry, no room for over inflated miner prices here.

Right, like my prices are not far off from others either, I just sell at around 10-20% lower.

I dont expect people that are only building the lower end architecture items should realy have to much of a need to buy ore from a miner. It is the higher end items that take huge amounts of ore to complete. A heavy mineral havestor for example take 15900 units of ore alone to build.Which for most architects is atleast a days worth of mining just to build one. Now if you where to shift all your mining equipment over to the other resources and buy your ore, you could fill alot more orders a day. The problem is most people get hung up on the price of 2.5 per. You have to look at the overall cost per unit to build to see where this can work for you in the long run. The cost of mining alum, copper, steel and gas breaks down to about 0.4 per due to the higher concentrations they can be found in. Now I will give an example of over cost to build a heavy mineral havestor.

15900 ore x 2.5 = 39750 credits

11870 other resouces x 0.4 = 4748 credit

44498 credit (total cost) divided by 27770 resources (total resources) = 1.6 credits per

So if it seems you never have enough ore to keep up with building these high end installations, this may be a good solution for you.

Koranic,

Icould not agree more, you are one of my favorite examples, 3cpu is NOT some fixed price. I salute you!

Nope, it is not a fixed price, but as a general rule, and if I was a betting man, I would wager my paycheck that 9 out of ten prices I see are 3cpu or more.

If I was running a business that required purchases of bazaar resources, and trying to develope a plan based on that, when it came estimating my costs, I would be writing down a little 3 on my paper.

Technically, the price is not fixed, but in everyday practice, it is.

When I browse the bazaar and start seeing 2 numbers our of 1000 that are less than three, then maybe I will believe you. Until then, you are just further spinning your point of view(from discussions on previous threads).

I disagree,

It is not a fixed price,

It is not a general rule

It is not based upon anything at all, except the sellers market that existed a month and a half ago and no longer does exist. ( my opinion )

I personally mine resrouces for less than half a credit ( closer to .35 now )

My overhead ( re-deeding and travel and such ) is lower and lower all the time. Even including overhead my cost for resources is less than a credit.

I could not compete if I purchased resources at the outrageous price of 3cr per unit, so I dont.

I just had another non related thought dayl. Is it possible that you, with all of your lowpricing rhetoric, that I see in almost every postare actually something other than you potray yourself?

Considering you are always taking the side of the low baller, it makes me wonder what you have to gain by this.

Now, I am not sure how many people know this, but this forum is, and is constantly used to try and influence others(developers, players) into getting people to think and or act, in a way that is more favorable to your chosen profession(s).

If you push some point of view, look around there are lots...

So and so class needs nerfed, architects prices should be low, my class needs this.. this list goes on...

You will get someones attention, and possibly influence some aspect of the game in your favor. Perhaps get the developers to nerf a profession, or get a player base to think that architect products should be priced lower and lower. If enough people read it, perhaps some will start to believe it. Kind of like propaganda.

Now, if you were an architect, I would think an architect would want high prices, and defend that postion on a public forum. You know, get the word out, educate the customer, and maybe your profits would increase.

But instead you are always definding the low ball position, the pathetic architect prices. Now why would an architect defend a position that encourages lower prices?

Maybe because they are not an architect, but perhaps they are someone that is buying from one?

If I didn't like the prices of a certian profession I could go to said professions board, and spew the bogus propaganda.

Maybe I should go to the weaponsmith board and do something like Dayl is doing(you may or may not, but it sure looks like it). Something like..

Weaponsmith board:

... I think our guns are priced too high, we should undercut each other and sell stuff closer to the cpu of a tailor, after all.. blah.. blah.. blah..

So what are you Dayl? Someone that has gotten taken by a dishonest architect? Now you are here using your excellent argument skills for some payback?!

LOL.

I know its a conspiricy!!

LOL, GMT
You aren’t a scientologist are you? They have a conspiracy theory about everything.

No I take that position because no one else does. When I first came to the forums everyone acted like they all know what everyone was SUPPOSED to sell at and anyone that didn’t think exactly like they did was an idiot.

Well, It annoyed me, they were so pompous and sure of themselves while others that they put down " that supposedly know nothing about business" were putting these people out of business. I thought it was funny so I decided to explain it to them

Very few understand it, actually that cant be true, very few want to understand it.

The bottom line is. As real as 3cpu is to you, it is just as real that the going rate for a small house is 9k on my server, that is less than 3cpu. I didn’t make that rate, it was there when I got here, but it is in fact a reality.
I found that I can compete with that price by arranging my business the way I do. I noticed that I will be able to compete at an even lower price when I need too.

I have just been trying to explain it to people.

I have nothing to gain, and nothing to loose, It is just an enjoyable way to pass some of the more boring hours of my work day. Notice Irarely post at night, or on the weekend
