Thread: I have the perfect idea (I think) to fix renewable income

Ok, it's really really simple. It would not require any major coding change, it would not negatively effect the players in ANY way and nothing would really change from the way players do things now.

It's real simple. It would help offset the fact that our structures don't decay.

Just have part of the redeed cost (maybe half) go to the creating Architect.

This would offset the fact that once they buy it, it's there for good. It would offset the fact they don't decay. Over time, through redeed cost from moving them, it would be like them buying another to replace the one that has worn out.

If the Dev team wanted to simulate something, they could simulate the cost going to the creator for them coming out and uprooting the structure for the player or something to that effect.

The players would not have to pay anything extra for decay or in any way have something added that would add extra stuff. It's something they do already.

To me, it sounds like a really simple solution. If the originating creator no longer exist, then the money would just poof like it does now.

I mean think about it, it would be like them buying a new harvester to replace the old one or buying parts to replace broken ones. It would provide us with a renewable income without pissing off the players with added decay or cost or anything.

The ONLY thing that would have to change that is different than the way things are done now is code added that when they redeed, hlaf goes to the black hole and hlaf goes to the bank account of the creator. The system already knows who the creator is. It's on the deeds.

A much better idea would be to let us build turrets. It's also much simpler.

This has been suggested before... you might want to find another thread about it. Basically the problem is that after an Architect sellsenough structures, he's not going to have to do any more work... he can just let the money roll in while he sits on his butt.

You're also talking about tightening up one of the money sinks in the game... instead of going poof, the money continues to circulate in the ecomony. To compensate, the devs would either have to raise the overall maintenance rates (so more money leaves the economy), or lower the money sources (e.g. missions) again.

Ack, knew I forgot something:

This would also probably lower the market prices of structures even more, as Architects try topush their structures into circulation to get that free income.
