Hi
I play on Chimaera.
I just wonder why people sell ex. medium chemical for 25k, it takes 12115 units to make, that app 2 cpu....why even bother makeing them ?
Why not just sell resources for2 cpu or more ?

Because for some reason, whether disdain or lunacy, people have got it into their minds that they deserve everything ingame for relatively free from my observations.
Don't worry, within 2 months there will be a lot less crafters and you can jack the prices up considerably the way things are going.

Well I sell for 55k for medium atm and 120k for fusion and Heavy.
Because people want them for 25k doesnt mean they should have them for the prize
I didnt went into this business to make lots of $$$, but I refuse to sell for 2 cpu, I could make that without the whole architect tree, just selling resources.

I've never seen the logic in selling finished goods for less than the value of the raw materials.
But some people look at it like this: it only costs them 0.5 cpu to mine ore. So they consider their cost to be 0.5 cpu. So if they sell the harvesters for 2 cpu then they are making 1.5 cpu profit.
This is true. Their cost is 0.5 and their profit is 1.5. But they are ignoring that they could just sell ore for 2 cpu. When you point that out they often respond that they don't want to be a miner or that they enjoy crafting and want to sell for 'fair' prices.

Some of the lower prices architects are re-appearing on our server. If they're around for the galaxy search, I'll have to see if my prices will have to be adjusted or not. Oh yeah, I put the paintings at 10k. They're selling at around the same pace as they were at 16k.

Why not buy it from them cheap and sell it at your price. Keeps your vendor stocked, brings in profit and you dont have to make stuff.

I have to add I always have set my price at what I feel is the true value of my time.
I sell Heavies for 135k and have never had a major problem shifting them on infinity.
Yes there are always people selling cheaper than me.
Good luck to them.
My vendor is regularly stocked with the full range. Customers seem to come when a nice spawn is about and empty it of the relevant harvester. They dont want to wait for a custom order or look around the galaxy.
They want it now. I provide it a the price I want. We are both happy.
This may change after the galaxy search. I dont really anticipate it though and if it does I dont plan to change my prices.
They reflect MY time and effort and if no one wants them <shrug> I will sell minerals.

I have played on Chimaera since launch and have to agree it is a joke on our server it is almost as if thesecut-throat morons have a true distain for the crafting professions the group i feel for are new players that may want to join the architect community
forthese fly-by-night cut-thoatsto say they love crafting is totally unbelieveable if they did love crafting they would have pride in their workmanship and have no issue with charging a fair price
I guess I am lucky being a vetran player i have amassed enough creds to see me thru and with a supportive guild we pretty much have everything we need between us
so I sell my ber13 harvies for 125k they have nice hoppers n represent good sound investments at this price I also don't make any harvies except heavies n fusions I stick to this price& product range as I see it as fair and with new players coming into the game that may just want to get into architect they then have a chance to compete fairly against established architects
I maybe totally wrong and misguided in this but it makes me feel I am doing my bit

I tried selling med harvs for a while, but gave it up and made houses instead. I never sold more than a few med harvs at 50k... houses sell just fine and I can use what ever crap resources I find cheap.

I sell mediums for 25k for 2 reasons.
1) In the mall where my vendor is there's another architect stocking nothing but medium harvesters for 25k. Previously I charged 30k but if he's in the same building I figured I should match. I believe that's what he made to get to master and he indicated at the time he opened his vendor that prices will go up in future.
2) I just want to get rid of them. To my mind with the 10 lot limit mediums just don't make sense. Only reasons I make them is if I botch a mining component I'll make a prototype not a schematic or if I get an odd # out of a component factory run. To my mind people should only use personals starting out and heavies later on. Yes I know the operating cost/unit produced is lower for mediums but that doesn't make up for the reduced quantities gathered. Harvest too much with a heavy (yeah right) then sell the excess to recover the higher cost. Since you can never have enough though the savings in not having to buy more definitely cover the higher running costs.
