I no this may sound dumb but i have seen heaps of people sayin that they run 20 or 30 or even more harvestors and was wondering how this is done due to only having 10lots. Do they get other people to drop for them??

it probably means they have more than one charcter or that they have doon a lot trade with another server

One person may have multiple accounts.
One person can mobilize multiple players on their own server. Real life couples or families that all play have a head start here. If everyone in a large guild donated just 2 or 3 spots to a common mining operation, that starts adding up to a lot of harvesters. Some playersare paying other players to rent out their unused lots, such as from new players who can't afford to pay maintenance on 10 lots of anything yet, or from combat types who don't really want to be miners anyway.
One person can do cross server lot trades. For example, I create a character on any other server for the sole purpose of letting someone on that other server use my new character's 10 lots, and then that second person creates a character on my server to do the opposite. If you are feeling cold and lonely, post anyopinion of cross server lot trading, be it pro or con, and be forever warmed by the flamethrower effects from the torrent of opinions opposite yours. This cross-server lot trading engenders some very heated arguments.

I have 20 lots which i gain from another count, a friend uses. She likes to fight (smuggler,pistoler). So I giver her a house deed(to store resources in), several harvesters, and she puts me on the admin list so i always have access to them(paying maint fees and energy and of course collect the resources). Great compromise for both of us.
