I've been playing as much as i could, trying to get my PA's hall done, and then finally, the culmination of all my hard work paid off. I hit master architect today, after spending the entire day crafting components for the hall, after spending the previos days organizing my Pa to try to get me resources, though that proved to be a hard task, i finally accomplished it.

To make a long story short, i sit back and relax, feeling secure that with all the structure assembly point i had, making a hall wouldn't be a problem.

the toughness on ALL the steel i used was 890, the toughness on all the ore i used was higher than 700. I made sure to use the best materials i could, and none of my components were less than 20%. I crafted myself a brand new furniture tool, as some have suggested, and i got something like 60% effectiveness on it, and 68% durability.

I even got a few crit fails on the wall segments i made for the hall, and said to myself 'gee, good thing im getting them now, not for the hall'

Well, i must have jinxed myself. Yup, that's right. I sat down to make a Tatooine guildhall, and poof. magically 60k resources are lost....to a random occurance that doesn't seem to take into effect my sill level(as a master of anything, i'd assume my chances are lower, but, alas, apparently not), randomness that nothing helped me with.

Did i miss something in architect 101 about making halls? 60000 rsources wasted, an entire day wasted, my stress and anger put aside, this day sucked.

Man, what total crap. I feel for you. The randomness of critical failures is insane. I am a master artisan and got crit. failure 9 times in a row on a FIBERPLAST PANEL!! It's totally random and doesnt take into effect your skills at all and I think that is pretty crappy.

Wow, man...

I mean - how come I'm a Novice Architect (not even halfway to Master yet) who has made over ten small houses and a handful of crafting stations and two factories - and NEVER has crit. failed on anything?

The only crit fail I have ever had was one structural module.

I attributed it to my uber-resources (I do try to use the best and toughest when possible), since my lack of failures doesn't seem to be a random event.

If it IS random, then kick me silly.

Ow. (You know when you're a guy, and you see another guy get kicked in the nuts, and your instinct is to squint your eyes, close your legs and cover your crotch?I think I just did the Architect equivalent of that.)

Sorry to hear that man. Critical failure in this game are WAY too high, much less the fact that you lose everything.

Yep sucks, but that's part of the game. That's also why we need to figure that into the cost of our final products. Better luck next time.
