Thread: Help please: What do the numbers for power on extractors translate into in terms of real-world time?
Could anyone please explain to me what the numbers under power on an extractor mean in terms of real-world time? I am talking about the numbers on the status menu which display the power available (ex. :4 or 1:12). Thank you in advance for your assistance!

The guide referenced in the above URL is incorrect on maintenance fees for resource harvesters (well, for Medium Harvesters for 100% certain). The rate listed is per .5 hour, rather than the hour that the guids states. For example ("rate shownx 2) x (hours desired) = "total credits required". So it looks like this: (30 x 2) x 50 = 3000cr. You will notice that 3000in the maint poolwill display as2 days, 2 hours.
I believe themaintenance rate for Housing is "per hour" (I stuck in 3,000cr and got like 5 days), so either that guide is wrong about Harvesters, or this is a bug and not working as intended,or they "silently" nerfed Harvester maintenance rates. I'll take Door #3.
For power, the rate is correct. Ex. 1500 units of power = 30 hours. The display is farked tho, ~13,000power shows as 4:3hours (was a typo I made due to that default 0 being difficult to overwrite in Deposit Power menu). So that calcs out to being that the 1st number is a multiple of 60 hours, not 24 hours. (ex 1:2 = 62 hours) Not sure why that Power display is so wacked out... Guess thestress of codingthe maintenance alogorithm, made the dev go back on the pipe.
They could have made it a bit more simple for us, took me a bit of experimenting and a calculator to figure out how it worked, so I just use a set amount each evening and that way I always know what time of day RL I need to make my maintenance rounds.

I'd like to see them make both windows the same. That extra zero in the power window has cost me 4500 units of power. >:

Correct. A personal harvester takes about 650 power units for 24 hours of operation. If you put that in, it will say something close to (:24) which means 24 hours. I've never had enough power in mine to show a number on the left of the colon, and i've had mine up to 40 hours (:40).I know it's hours because I've watched it go down over a known period of time (unless I was borrowing that crack pipe from the dev).
Besides, putting more than 2 day's power (48 hours) is a bad idea in my opinion with the resources shifting the way they do.
FYI- Medium harvesters take twice the power and twice the money to run.
Your correct on this. Right of colon is in hours. I have tested this my self and found it to be true.
I also have not seen a number to the left. As you stated the fact that resources change so often and when redeeding you lose the power it makes little sense to place to much on them.
So if you go on vacation yourbetter offto pack up your mining ops instead of paying it up.
This is a simple coding error. It's displaying the number of hours as Minutes:Seconds (60:60) as opposed to Days:Hours (x:24). That's why you see values on the right greater than 24. The programmer just used the wrong time format argument in the clinet code.The way to figure it out is, as stated above:
(x:y) => x * 60 + y
in hours.
