Thread: HELP!! Critical Failures!
Ok, I have just becomed an architect, and as soon as i reached it, I built a small house for a friend.
Now, when I got a customer, I started building him his small house while he waited, had just enough resources, but when I assembled the actual house, it critical failed, and I had to let the customer go, as i had no more resources.
Next day, I got a customer for a equippment factory.
I made all the pieces Ineeded for it, and by now i was so close to leveling, I decided to level to Factories I before i assembled it.
After training, i assembled the factory, and had another CRITICAL FAILURE!!.
Now, as a poor architect, it's gonna take me a while to get the resources needed for another factory, and before I try to assemble this I need advice.
IS THERE ANYWAY to raise a skill that make me better on assembling, I really would hate critting on this one too.
The skill that has to do with experimenting, does that also make me better at assembling?
Please help!!
The only thing I know of is to raise your construction Architect skill.

Please look into the Furnature skill tree line. this line adds to your assemmbly skill along with more experimentation points. According to SOE this should help reduce crit fails.
Hope that helps.

The furniture line does decrease failures. However the construction line is completely worthless at this time. Experimention does nothing for stuctures at the moment.
We should be Shouting at the top of our lungs what a crock of $#!^ losing all materials is on a critical failure. What the stuff vaporizes. Ok so you cut the board too short. Your still left with 2 boards. Its not like were producing items that take 20 minutes of surveying to collect enough resources for.
How about we lose 10% of the materials and maby a component once and awhile.
You will hear the scream around the world the day you crit fail putting that PA hall together.
Also what happened to the prototype I built when making a scematic???? What gives, the machine gobbled up my generator turbine to produce a piece of paper. Thats crap, I made one and requested details on its assembly, I should have 1 working model and the schematic!
Both Crit Failures and Schematics are DEV NERFS to the artisan classes.
So DEVS if you read this - your code crit fails to compile - oops its all gone - please start over from scratch.
Sorry Gweth.. it's a dead horse. I ranted left and right about it in beta. I was flamed by the fanboys and ignored by the dev's. Nothing's going to happen.. apparently someone at SOE thinks losing a day's worth of harvestered resources on a PA failure is fun.

I isn't?
Seriously tho, I understand crit failures suck ass... but if I am correct crit failures never happen in factories, so I guess the wise thing to do is create a schematic (I know that sucks too because it takes a full set of resources and produces no real tangible object) and use a factory, that way you cut out the chance of a crit failure .. at least on the big stuff.. that is just my 2 cents worth tho.
What i do is build Stucture mod's unitl i get a critical then I build 3 final products. then back to small things until I get another critical then back and do three more final products. After many many many criticals on large items this method has saved me from losing a final product since i started this method.
There is a risk to be an architach but the rewards are great.

Making a run of PA halls in a factory is a bit impractical. That's what people are talking about, not structure modules or walls or turbines.. of course your gonna run that in a factory.
The fact is resources don't last long enough to bother with making schematics of large or medium houses.. or factories or heavy harvesters. But the loss from a failure on the final assembly of these larger structures can be devestating.
Also I don't know what you mean by the AO comment.. AO is an extremely stable game now, with far more content than SWG has at the moment. Perhaps you should modify that sig to specify that you mean 'AO's Launch' which was awful.
