Thread: Is house building bugged?

I just became a novice Architect and tried building a house after construction of all the required components (structual blocks, storage & light power core unit) During the assembly phase I can add all the required materials and components (blocks & storage) but when I try to add the core unit I get a "server internal error" wrong materal message. I confirmed that I was using all the correct units by looking a the building materals/ required components list and they all exactly match. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help!

I have encountered this error before aswell when adding wall units really fast in heavy harvesters. Try it a few times on different types of houses with different power cores (make another power core). If the issuestill persists submit a /bug and repost here with details. I'm interested in knowing what happens.

Well it took some doing, but I figured it out. Looks like a bug.

In this case I had constructed the products required to build a house and placed them in a sachel I carried in inventory, to help separate them from the rest of the items I carry on me. When I tried to use the products from the sachel in the build menu, I would get the error message "internal server error: invalid resource". If that same item was moved to my regular inventory (not in the sachel) and then used, the build menu would accept the item. This applied to any product in my sachel, not just the core power unit.

Im not sure if this is just related to the sachel, or perhaps it extends to backpacks too. I do not have a backpack (which is another bug in itself with the Domestic Arts 4. It says you can build it in the gained abilitys list, but you cant find it in the build list once you earn DA4..thus I cant make my own backpacks)

Can anyone tell me if the sachel issue is a known bug? If not I will report it. (also interested in the backpack issue with DA4)

The same issue occured for me then. When trying to add an ingredient from another container (such as a cargo pocket), it still searches in the main inventory. This may be to prevent a dupe or something. I assumed it was intentional but I will bring it up.

As for the backpack, are you sure you're near a crafting station? Some things need to be crafted using a personal crafting station only (not sure if that's the issue). Personally I am able to craft that pack, soit should be good. Try it on different crafting stations.

Im pretty sure Iwas at the generic crafting station. I will confirm that tonight and post the results. Thanks for the input.

For the backpack, you have to use the specialized crafting tool, not the generic one

Thanks guys! I figured it out but you beat me to the post :smiley happy:

I did figure out the the problem continues with the backpack too. It looks like the problem exists with any pack, belt or sachel. If you do not keep the resources in your personnal inventory, you will get this error.

Yes, all materials have to be in your main inventory. You can open up backpacks and all and pull the stuff out from the build menu but, it still has to be moved into main inventory in order to use.

I see this as yet more lazy programming. Instead of allowing you to pull stuff from backpacks (to organize), they only coded the use of main inventory. Lazy
