October In Development List

This is what we have scheduled for our next monthly publish. We expect it to go on to Test Center by early November.

  • Mounts (six different types including the Dewback and Kaadu)
  • Player City code: Voting, Taxation, Militia and City Growth
  • New Buildings: City Hall, Player Cantina, Player Hospital, Player Theatre, Player Bank, Player Shuttleport
  • New Professions: Politician
  • Themepark badges/rewards
  • Various bug fixes and profession enhancements

No mention under new professions about a "Urban Planner".

Hopefully the Devs are cutting us a break for once and allow us to keep some points for our combat certs.

More than likely though, it was an oversight to not type in "Urban Planner" after all.

This was hinted at in last weeks HOC.

Urban Planner...I'm still not sure how this profession will happen. It may be that we go with putting the new schematics into architect instead. It's still being discussed.

I like this development because I don't think a dozen new schematics isn't enough to create a whole new tree.

hard to say, even though it isn't listed, doesn't mean anything one way or another... they could still implement it as a separate profession. Won't know til it hits TC

From the City Web Page

Room for Growth

The player city system will be introduced to live servers in progressive stages. The design has been planned to be modular so that the initial system can be rolled out to players as quickly as possible. The team has plans to develop and introduce additional city structures, services, and systems over the months following the introduction of player cities. Many of these additional features will be driven by YOUR feedback. Get out there and start meeting your in game neighbors...soon enough they might be trying to vote you out of office.

They only list 6 buildings, hardly enough to center a whole profession around. Maybe down the road they will make urban planner, but for now it is looking like those 6 buildings will be placed in the architecture line. It says nothing of parks or fountains though.

The cool thing about this is it will allow architects to be politicians too. There was no way I could have had enough skill points to be an urban planner and politician, and still keep some combat skills.

This will let me do what I want, so I am happy with the decision. Only problem is it may drive more people to get master arch then would have if urban planner would have been seperate.

Do you really want to use all your points to do nothing but build structures?

I do not see many people using up their points just to get Master Architect so theycan build City structures.

We current Masters should have no problem at all filling out any order from any city not smart enough to have theirown Master.
