Thread: income ideas??
I am trying to come up with ideas on how the architects can continue to survive in this game. One way is to implement services that architects can do, that no other class can do.
1. Re-deeding - I think the re-deed option should only show up on a structure if an architect is present and participating (getting paid). for example. owner of the house and architect is present, architect selects the redeed option (not on an admin list) and if the owner is near the structure, the owner is given a message screen giving him the option to redeed or destroy... you dont want architects running around redeeding structures without permission now do you ![]()
2. Maintenance - all this money is paid into maintenance. where does it go? why can't a percent of the maintenance be paid to the architect who made the deed. Master's get a better cut then novice, based on a experimentation value too. Uxp doesnt work because a Master doesnt need more xp. Or make it so that architects can see how much damage is done, and quote the user a price to fix... the architect will see how much it will cost to fix and can charge an amount, including his costs to fix the structure.
3. Modular Home/Floorplans - make homes a modular idea. you get a basic floor plan, and the different ranks of building give you the option of adding levels to home, additional storage, parking stall for your pet
or better yet, allow Master Architects the ability to make a floorplan... some kind of floorplan builder
I have some more ideas but I am running short on time

Not sure how many structures will ever need re-deeding. There may not be as much business in this as you may think.

I personally, would rather actually do something in order to get that maintenance money, you know like, plumbers, electricians and other repair type professions would. I would like for Maintenance to be a skill branch for Architects and possibly replace the useless Contruction branch. You would go into a structure and open your building repair kit. It would list what repairs needed to be done on the structure. You tell the owner what they are and tell them your charges based on whatever materials you will need in order to make the repairs. I'd say in order to both alert and enforce the owner into making repairs, the hourly maintenance should start raising on a gradient scale and continue to rise until the repairs are done.

I love this idea, period.
