Thread: Zoning & House Placement
I bought a house deed from someone, and I can't seem to use it with a player city.
There are a lot of buildings forming this guild member, player city. I can't seem to put my house anywhere near the other structures. There's a yellowor red zone that comes up. If i travel out to the middle of nowhere I can find a place to put my house (a green zone).
My questions are:
- Do Ihave to join the guild/faction to be able to put my house near the other players?
- Does being a certain level architect allow you to place building where others can not?
Many of the buildings in the city are MUCH closer together than I am trying to place mine in relation to other structures. So, it doesn't seem that I'm trying to place it too close to others. And I don't get a "you cannot build here" message.
Any ideas?
You can build anywhere you want with a few restrictions:
1. If the terrain is hilly or uneven it will not let you place a structure. Needs to be reasonably flat.
2. If there are any lairs nearby they create a large yellow area. Clear out any lairs and it may open up things for you.
3. Each structure puts out a footprint that is unbuildable for other structures. Make sure you are clear of all extractors, houses and such.
Depending on the planet terrain is typically the biggest pain. On Tatooine it takes me forever to place my large mineral extractors due to the dunes.
