Thread: Online Harvester Calculator
Okay folks.
I just put up a test platform for a medium harvester. I will be using the same link to supply a full flash implementation for all three harvesters. Right now only the medium one is up so you can test it out.
The online harvester let's you know how long your credits, power last in days/hours. It calculates the amount of production from your harvester based off the percentage of the land spot you are sitting at and then you can click the calculate button and it will decipher how long your harvester will run based off what you put into it and how many items were produced.
This will get a lot better folks.
- Credits = Amount of credits you put in.
- Power = Amount of power you put in.
- Percent = percentage of the spot the harvester is sitting on.
- Calculate = how many units you produce.
Here is the URL:
http://gamerscove.net/harvester.html
That's a nice job.
However, there is one that's been up since Beta at www.swgcraft.com that already does all three types. It will also allow you to put in power, and calculate how many of one type of harvester you can run off that power harvester.
You can also get a link to it from my site www.ratwhackers.com
I just saw that one and didn't know about it but I don't like the page layout nor the extra variables which make it confusing and cumbersome.
What I plan on doing is similar to what I just now saw on that page only it will be very easy to use and will incorporate a flash feel to it. I plan on implementing tools specific to the architect profession also so while this helps architects, it's not the only utility I will be creating.
I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner or else I'd have had one up a long time ago.
Anyways, please keep checking back and when the main site is up (all flash enabled) it will house everything that pertains to architects.
Also I saw yer site at ratwhackers and it's a nice site and our prices are similar. However, I need more oomph to a site personally, and that's why I like flash.
Thanks for the info.
I looked over that site again and the only thing I "don't" see and correct me if I'm wrong - but you can't put in x power and x maintenance and figure out what the harvester will produce or how many days it lasts.
This was the whole reason I designed this so that I could keep track of the area I'm harvesting and put in x amount of credits and x amount of power into the harvester and know exactly how many days it lasts without having to do the math.
That site does not give those numbers. It gives other numbers that may or may not be helpful to crafters though. That makes me feel better because I hate wasting time reiterating code that someone else may be working on before me.
I'll keep working on the page because I think it will help out the novice people and others that have trouble tracking harvesters.
Here is an idea for code, if you can figure out how to implement it before I do (which will likely be weeks).
Have a login, so that folks can create a list of the harvesters they have, the %'ages those harvesters are on, the resource they are on. Then they can also have a maint/power calc that will tell them how much longer they should have on that harvester.
In essence it would be an online harvester tracker. Dunno how difficult it'd be to implement off the bat.
I have adjusted the harvester calculator now. It now has small/medium/larges and you can cross compare them by clicking on the buttons with the same amount of credits/power in the boxes. The results were kind of an eye-opener for me because I now realize that larges are not much better than mediums (except for the amount of time).
Go take a look at it now.
This would only be a good idea for one person not many. The variables would have to be stored in a text file and that text file or log would get awfully huge if say 10,000 people were logging online to store their 10 - 50 harvesters in. Also the preferred method for this would be in an xml or php database and I don't have much time to work with php scripting.

Just went and used your calculator great job is there a way to DL to my PDA as I am forever using my pda during game time.
Does your PDA have access to flash players because if you want I can put the flash file in a .zip format for people to download. It's not a large file so I don't mind doing that at all.
I placed a link in the flash file so that people can download it and view it offline also. Included in the .zip are the movie and an .html file that you can use to view it. Just make sure to place them in the same directory.
Hope this helps.
Thx much I have down loaded it to my pda (axim running pocket pc) but it's not working, it does however work just fine on my pc. So I will play with the pda this weekend![]()
I look forward to any mods you my do.

May I sugguest some things to add.
A check box if you have Structure efficiency as a Merchant ( reduced pay mantenance )
Read out the base cost per unit of resource harvested.
