Thanks, but one more thing I have seen people selling houses in Coronent is that a good way to make money?
It depends on the economy on your server. But I'd bet that housing is not a good money maker. Most servers have matured to the point that the demand for housing is way down. It takes about 3000 resources to make a small house. If you compare the raw material costs on your server to the selling price of the houses you can determine if its profitable to make any. However, those people trying to sell houses in Coronet may not be selling any, you might ask them in a friendly manner if they are having any luck or not. Could also be just someone wanting to dump an old house deed rather than an architect.
I'll ahve to add this one to the FAQ.
Heres some suggestions:
1. Specialize in furniture. You often get a good profit margin on furniture items and if you keep a well stocked vendor in a decent area then you'll start attracting business.
2. Build walls and sell them to other architects. Not much fun and you can't expect a high profit margin but its a good way to pay your way up the skill tree.
3. High quality crafting stations. If you can keep master artisan for a bit then making high quality crafting stations can be pretty lucrative. You only nead novice architect to make them and the experimentation is from artisan points so a novice archi / master artisan can make the best. However, you do need to have high quality materials of several varieties.
4. Subsidize your architect grinding by selling resources part time.
I think Zen had a good post a while back about how to make it as a solo architect. It may have some of what you're looking for.
well for making big money become weaponsmith or armorsmith hehe
if u stay architect be sure u not sell finished product under the price u can sell the pure resources
You can make credits selling walls to a master. However, I would only sell as many walls as you need to feed your harvs, and stay "even". Once I made master, I suddenly realized I didn't have any resources, and thus had nothing to sell. But I had over 100k in my acct, which was useless.
Things that can sell:
- Small/Medium/Large houses. On Shadowfire, people still need housing. I sell houses every week. Not many, but some. I try to keep 4 small, 2 medium, and 2 large on my vendor all of the time.
- Factories: Equipement, Food, Clothing. These all sell. Probably more frequently than houses, and I sell a factory for about the same price as a medium house, yet it uses less resources.
- Furniture. Tougher game. My vendor is on the planetary map, which is probably why I sell so much furniture. Plus, I don't see it stocked much on other vendors. If you sell furniture, you should carefully and tastefully decorate your house. My house is a bit eclectic, from a furniture standpoint, in part, because I consider it a showroom.
- Torches. These will shout sell easily in a starport,I've got to believe. I feel like there are days when I sell 100 of them...they just sell so fast. If you can factory produce torches, you should. Plus they are typically a high margin item, but are made with grind qlty materials.
But really, walls are the easiest. I bet a search and a /tell will get you a "customer" in minutes. Plus, that master will probably train you up, and may even share wp's for ore/steel.
