Thread: Do sub-components of structures need experimentation?

Hi all, I wonder if you can help me. I'm a little bit confused with buildingstructures for PA Cities with regards to experimentation. Large houses, City Halls, PA Halls all need power core units which are noted as "Misc" and can not be experimented on. In such cases I use the worst value resources as using the good stuff would seem a waste. What's confusing me is there are two compnents from the Master Artisan tree (power conditioner and Energy distributor) that go into the power core unit and these can be experimented on and seem to need good quality resources. Does it make a difference to the final power core unit if the sub components are fully experiemented or does it have no effect, i.e. can I just use poor resources for all sub componentswith no experimentation and still get good power core units?


I've also heard that experimenting the UT values of the final house has no effect either, as houses don't degrade. Is this true, and should I be just using low value resources and saving the good stuff for the harvesters?

Realistically, the only 3 things in the whole architect line that need experimentation right now are:

- crafting stations
- all the "mining" components (ore mining unit, harvester unit, fluidic drilling pump, etc)
- final assembly on harvesters

It doesn't matter (right now) for anything else. I do it anyway, but it doesn't matter.

And Crafting stations still use Artisan experimentation, so a Master Artisan that is Novice Artchitect can make better stations than some one who is a Master Architect with just engineering 4. Since this is an architect made item is would be nice to see it actually using Architect experimentation.
