Anyone that can answer any of the following questions will greatly help me out -

1- Before I craft a structure there doesnt seem to be anywere I can see what planets it can be placed on .Currently Im doing an order for a PA hall for Lok but dont want to build a genetric is there any other options ?

2- I hear alot of people saying that a ber 14 fusion reactor runs 9 ber10s however I cant see how this is possible .Im currently using 2 BER9 windgenerators on 50ish% areas .How can something that has a BER rating of 25% less overall produce so much more power ?

3- Do fellow master architechs sell furniture ?.To me it seems a very time consuming task that creates very little profit and requires you to have two vendors really (so then requiring merchant skill) .Was just wondering about people views on this topic .

Thanks for any help you can give Its always very much appreciated

A new Tatooine PA hall is buildable on Lok.

1 BER 14 fusion can pull up about 14k of radioactive power on a 70% vein. That is enough to power 11 BER10 mediums and that is only with PE of 500. You can get up to double your energy if the PE is up to 1000.

Some architects specialize in furniture. If you have a well stocked vendor with a lot of traffic then it can be pretty profitable. If going into furniture heavily then making factory crates of the more peoplular items would probably save a lot of time.

I can answer this one.... it is easy to find a 70% spot of Radioactive that is PE 971 (so it is 1.9 times better than Wind).

So you've got (14 BER * .70 concentration) * 60 min/hr * 24 hr/day = 14,112 Units PE 971 Radioactive per day.

That 14k unit of Radioactiveis equal to (14k * (971/500)) ~ 27k units of Power.

9 Mediums require 11k units of Power per day, and you are pulling 27k of Powerwith the Fusion.

Some more thoughts on furniture. I'm a do-almost-everything master architect (I don't do stations). I find that torches, couches, beds, tables, chairs, and end tables all sell well (is that like saying, everything sells?).Master arch furn sells as well, even though I price this very high.

The tough thing for an architect is hides. I pay any scout 5 cpu for hides. As long as I get them in increments of 250 units. It's easy to burn through 5k in hides. It really doesn't take long. I encourage the gathering of wooly hide, but I'll take whatever.

Using a factory for furniture is a tricky thing, and really I only do that for torches and chairs, because I sell so many of each. Furniture simply takes too long in the factory otherwise and there are always struct mods or gen turbines to make. If you only sold furniture, then of course, you would use a factory.

I find it amusing to visit vendors that advertise furniture. I never find more than 100 items on it. If my vendor had just 100 furniture items on it, I'd consider myself a failure. Selling furniture, you should expect the typical sale to be at least 10 items. Andhopefully more. That means you need at least 100 chairs and 100 torches always in stock. 10-20 couches, 10-20 beds, 10-20 end tables, etc. Look at the number of schems we have (multiply by 10-20), and you'll soon realize you need 100's of items on a well stocked vendor.

And finally, to keep yourself sane, make a pricing list off-line for each item. I use Excel, and have the price for every item I sell (not just furniture) listed in the sheet. I price furniture at the insanely low price of 3 cpu. (Yes, 3 cpu!). But whatever cpu you choose, do yourself a favor and make a price list. For items requiring hides, I go with 8 cpu for the hide component and 3 cpu for the rest. For master architect items, well, they are on a different scale (2k-7k depending).

Torches, streetlamps, plants, fountains and statues are priced higher than 3 cpu, due to excessive demand.

I could charge more, because for the most part, people have way too many credits and they can afford it, but I get a lot of satisfaction out of knowing I'm one of the few architects even making any furniture on Shadowfire right now. I'm continually depressed by the number of houses that are completely or nearly completely void of any furniture, and so this is something I do, almost as a gift to the community.
