Apparently there was a contest for the best artist-after the contest the winners piece is up for sale. On Intrepid(I assume winners will be different) its a picture of a Krayt Skeleton. Schematic costs 48k from the curator.(I just did this about an hour ago, again on Intrepid, could be different on your Galaxy).
This sounds great. I was on my way to Bestine when the servers decided to restart early. Hmm, anyone have any info on this painting, what materials will be needed and how many uses? I'm sure it has to have a limited number of uses, like all other schematics, and at 48k, these paintings will not be cheap I can imagine.
I did the quest which was assigned by the museum curator in Bestine. The quest was to visit three painters in 3 cities (he tells you where they are) and then come back and vote on which one the museum should offer. When I returned, however, he didn't take my vote and instead told me that he had a schematic of a house for 48k that I could buy. Another player came in while I was there and got the same information even though he had never done the quest so I guess once somebody wins then anyone can come to buy the schematic.
I am also not 100% certain if this happens everytime somebody wins, but just outside the office with the curator was an alcove with lighting to either side that featured the painting he sold me a schematic for. It would be nice if this was always the winning artwork so people could see it before they buy it, but it may have just been a coincidence too. Good job SWG...more stuff like this please. I love art and I like little inconsequential things to do that give you interesting things. Now if that doggone election would just end so I could get something from my candidate in Bestine I would be really happy.

On Radiant, we got the Portrait of Mattberry Plant. It's similar to the Grunda Painting, and shows a guy sitting under a big mushroom. Kinda ugly, but they'll still probably sell like hotcakes.
The schematic requires 20 wood, 50 hide and 50 chemical. The schematic cost 48K, and has only two uses, but you can make a schematic from it and make 1000. You can also buy multiple schematics from the curator. Takes 232 seconds to make one in a factory, and they come in crates. (Not sure how many to a crate, because I was pulling them out to sell, but at least 10).
