From the FAQ, pinned at the top of the forum, here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=architect&message.id=44120

=====================================
Q-5.1: What should I charge for a building/harvester/piece of furniture??

A-5.1: Copy/paste from ZenDragonMLS -

"Find the vendors for many of the Master Architects on your server. Go visit them. Copy down the prices. Talk with miners and ask them where they get their harvesters and how much they pay. Check the Bazaar for furniture prices. Check the Trade Forum for your server.

Then sit down and figure out what kind of business *you* want to run. If you want to be a low-cost / high-volume guy, then figure out how you can keep your operating costs as low as possible and yet pump out lots of stuff (high-volume means you will need extra lots and/or people to mine for you). If you want to focus on furniture, then you need to make sure that your vendor always has a large selection on it and you need to advertise a lot. If you want to only service miners by making high-end heavy harvesters, then figure out the economics of *their* business and charge for your harvesters based on their payback (e.g., selling someone a money-making machine that never decays for an amount that they can earn back in 2-4 days is not a recipe for long-term success.)

You get the idea: price is only *one* aspect of your whole business model. Think through how you want to play and pick your prices to fit that model. Whatever you do, don't take some "rule of thumb" like "charge X credits per unit of resources that it takes you to build it" and call it a "business model". Take more control over your business than that."

==================================

Do you know what it *costs* you to build the furniture? Do you dig up resources or buy them? Does that include what you have to pay for hide? Are you going to specialize in furniture?

Are you just grinding to get to Master and then drop it, or are you planning on being in the Architect business? If you are just grinding, then grind walls and sell them to a Master for your operating funds.

If you are planning on being in business, then you need to be aware the each server's economy is different. That your *location* can have a big impact on how much traffic you'll see. And lots of other variables. I have seen, even on the same server, furniture prices go from 3-20 credits per unit. I suspect that doesn't help you much.

What I did when I wanted to figure my pricing was this:

Went to swgcraft.com they have a great site that tells you how many resources/crated items are needed for each item at each skill level. Wrote down all the info from there. Each item, how many components whether it took factory parts or walls and so on.

Then went to my trusty excel spreadsheet and created a graph. Basically components x1cr c x2cr c x 3cr and so on. then i kind of went thru and figured how much I would pay for that item and how much time went into each item and tried to match those as close as possible on my spreadsheet.

Then I checked out a huge number of vendors to get an idea of market price in my area.. Let me tell you they fluctuate pretty widely.

After all that I came up with a list that I try desperately to stick to. Most things I sell are probably about c x 4cr but really depends on the item. Also with the harvester changes Those prices are on a scale depending on the rate I get when making them.

TO get a quick idea of prices, you can go to your servers trade forum and do an advanced search for posts with the word 'harvester' in the subject line. You should find at least a few people who are advertising architect items for sale and mention prices in the post. If there are tons of people trying to sell stuff with little response then you'll know theres a bit of competition. If there are a lot of unanswered WTB posts then you might be able to price high safely.

For furniture, I start at 5cpu and go up from there for more popular items (the torch, and the round glass table being two items that I have found hard to keep in stock, and therefore charge a premium on). If hide is involved, I generally charge 10cpu for each unit of hide, and 20cpu for each unit of wooly hide in the schematic. Ihave consideredcharging more as hide has gone up in price, but I haven't done so yet. I tend to charge more if the schematic is higher on the skill tree, but rather than a fixed forumula, I usually just round it up to a more even number. Also, I don't price by cpu for master architect furniture, instead selling at a fixed rate of around 7500 per piece for most pieces.
