OK I want to dabble in both Weaponsmith and Architect and as of right now I have the GCXP to learn Weaponsmith. If I wait by tonight I willearn the 33000 needed for Architect. Here's my question... if I go Arch first are there any items there that give big quickGCXP #'s? Or if I go Weaponsmith first are there any items there to give me big, quick GCXP #'s. Or am I going to be grindning out more bone armor to get the GCXP I need?

Once you get the Novice skill the XP changes...

If you go Weaponsmith the xp required is now Weapon Crafting XP.

If you go Architect the xp required is Structural Crafting XP.

This should sum up your question...

Before the nerf I used powerups for grinding, I got tired of grinding and I found that axes give 80xp so I did those till I hit 33k. Now this will take a lot of resources, but you won't have do as many grinds. Also if you buy a factory you won't have to grind, but you will have to stay next to it for a good while. Another way to go about it is to hit master artisan, and then sale those master items for uxp as well. Thats how a weaponsmith friend of mine did it. It didn't take him too long to do it that way and he really didn't grind and made some cash too.

Actually I'd go arch first. Make an equipment factory which you get at novice architect. Use it to grind out cdefs or whatever while you sample nearby for the gcxp. It's slower than you grinding, but I'm a big fan of less mouse clicks.

Remember, you or someone else has to be in the area of the factory for you to get the xp.

In the beta you could create crafting stations (900 exp ea) for GCXP. Not anymore. Everything in the arch tree gives structure exp now.

I also am a dual master wannabe. I got both novices skills by gritting my teeth and grinding kits.

If I could start over again on a fresh server I would go weaponsmithing first. There is more of a demand for your items. You get the giddyness of expirementing, and if you make the best stuff people respect you. There is nothing that sets you apart from another architect except your own natural customer service skills. Even then don't expect to sell something everyday. Lastly a critical failure as an architect can set you back a weeks worth of materials.

I'm not saying architect is bad by any means. I'm just saying that weaponcrafting would probably be more fun, and when you do start selling a lot of stuff, you won't have any problem affording any architect created item you need.
