Bluntly put: There is none.

Well, small correction. There will always be some small market for Personal Harvesters (because everyone knows they're cheaper to destroy than reclaim) and people with furniture fetishes.

Nothing else we can make has a long-term market. Who is going to buy anything else we can make when everyone on your server has 10 Large Harvesters & a Large House? The people who pay that sort of money aren't likely to let them decay & not take care of them. Medium harvesters are surely worth the measly 3k it costs to reclaim the deed. This is true of all the Artisan professions (with 2 exceptions), and not just ours.

We need to make some serious noise regarding item decay, or in a few months we'll have all given up & be playing Bounty Hunters or some other combat profession because there will be no more market for the expensive & shiny things we can make. Given the completely lack of item decay (whether it be clothes, buildings, droids or even weapons & armor that can be repaired) combined with enclosed server populations that forbid new characters, there are no viable long-term markets in the "player economy" as it's been designed. The only exceptions are Chefs (consumable food) and Image Designers (some people will just never tire of changing their hairstyle & freckles).

The writing is on the wall already.

While I'm not arguing your points in general, when you find the secret to owning 10 Large Harvesters and a Large House with your own personal lot space, please let me know... I'd love to find out.

I'm a small time architect trying to get xp to advance to medium buildings.... I cant sell any small houses because power gamers flooded the market within the first month.

I really don't believe nobody wants a small house anymore. If that's the case, how come I am still selling them left and right?

Just remember, there's more to selling a house than making it and selling it. You've got to market yourself, you've got to make people aware you're there. If nobody knows you exist, I bet they won't buy a single house from you.

And no, shouting that you sell houses isn't stupid, annoying, or anything else people tell you. It's called marketing, and it works. So shush the naysayers and plug away.

LOL I knew someone would feel the need to put on their "I'm Smarter Than You" hat, pointthat outand derail the thread to stroke their ego.

Here's the secret: Some people own more deeds than they have lot spaces to put them down. The ones who need/enjoy flexibility do anyway. I never said they'd have them all placed at once, that was your incorrect assumption.

LOL somehow I knew you'd find a way to take my legit point that your statement was incorrect and turn it into a juvenile insult.

You said when EVERYONE has 10 Large Harvs and a Large house. Not some people, who are using their friends lots. As long as not EVERYONE has a house, there's a market, and therefore your statement is INCORRECT. I'm not stroking my ego at all. I'm questioning your statement. If your intent was to post your "feelings" and just have everyone agree with you, then it's pretty clear YOU are the one looking to stroke your own ego.

Next time you're gonna insult someone, make sure you're not a much bigger idiot than them, or you'll just look dumber.

Server trading is also alive and well. Simply put, you make a character on my server and give me your lots. I make a character on your server and I give you my lots. Voila, extra 10.

Good idea, didnt think of that one. Anyway, once I have the materials, its just a matter of time before I have 100k on me and I am thinking of whats next.

This is simple: I'm in this profession for me and me alone. I want to own my own Large House and be able to make all the furniture for it myself because I can't afford the 3213029131293k credits you guys charge. When I'm done and feel like I don't have anything else to do, I'll surrender all my skill points and try another profession. Maybe scout, or medic, or something else. That's the way the game works.

who ever was charging you that amount was really sockin it to you.

and if you think houses cost too much do a bazaar search on the resources used to make a house and then calculate the cost you'll find that your getting a real bargain. And why bother doign the work yourself .. jsut collect the resources needed and give them to an architect to make for you.. I'm sure they would appreciate the xp and most would do it for free.

The creator has a very good point that occured to me in a nightmare i had not to long ago. Luckily weapons decay over time and that makes a job for the weapon smiths however slow the market may become they will always at least have somthing to go on. Clothing will have decay eventually im sure but it sure dosent now (course the clothing enhancments dont even work so dont hold youre breath). Almost all the other professions will be ok but this architect problem is troubleing. Ive seen large houses for 140k very doable for even a casual gamer as long as you run missions etc. But as the point was brought up who is going to waste that 140k by letting thier house go to pot? Nobody with half a brain thats who. They will need to create new things for architects to do such as maybe remodels or house repairs or even build turrets and shield generators for overts that can be destroyed and thus need to be repaired or rebought. This is just an idea of what may be done to solve the problem i think by now however the devs have found this problem and are working on some sort of a solution. Maybe horrible natural disasters are the answer i dont know but this game needs some major balancing still that probley wont be done even 6 months from now. I have a feeling this game will turn out good though so just keep on truckin and keep these message boards full i think at least some of the devs actually care that this game turns out well.

I agree with BriRaptor. They know about balancing issues and I'm sure that it's on their list of things to do. But I'd rather have more content over having them fastfix these things and then come to find out that they screwed some other class over even worse. They'll get around to it. For now, give us vehicles so it doesn't take me two hours to make my rounds through all my harvesters.

As for you Sbocaj, you've got great motivation, seeing as architect is rated the hardest advanced artisan profession just ahead of droid engineer, to take it up just so you can build your own house and furniture and whatnot. But I hear alot of people whine about prices being too high, even when I'm selling small houses for 5-7K each. There are those that realize that instead of heading out into the countryside to fight we are instead running through the countryside to our harvesters and spending considerable time doing that. Those people then will gladly pay the 40K credits I charge for any factory. But on the other hand there are those people that complain about every architects pricing. These people I point in the direction of the market or to the countryside and tell them if they fetch me all the resources, I'll build them their item for free. So far I've NEVER had a single person come to me with resources, they simply swallow their misplaced pride and pay me what is due.

Personally I disagree. There will always be people just joining the game and people leaving the game. The market will never be the same as it is now, but in time there will be less architects. Right now there is a lot of people doing architecture just for their own personal goals.
