Thread: Used housing market
How bad are we all going to get screwed as people start upgrading to medium and large houses? What can a person do with their old deed other than sell it on the bazaar for 3k?
I think we really need to push for a recycle function or upgrade kits. Let us upgrade houses or reclaim some of the resources. Soon the market is going to be flooded with small house deeds for 3k, and you won't be able to sell a small house.
Have any servers started seeing this yet?
There really isnt a used housing market since houses dont decay. Before I was an Architect I would simply sell my old deed, at a price comperable to what I payed for it. If there was Decay this would be different, but as of now a 3 week old house is the same as a brand new one.
Eva you are missing my point. Right now you have 50 people making small houses so the price is already depressed. When 500 people who bought a small house decide they want a medium house, what is going to happen to those 500 small house deeds?
Are people taking them as trade ins and giving credits? Are people destroying their deeds so they don't have to pay the re-deed fee? Are people going to take their old deed and sell it on the bazaar for whatever they can get?
As you said there is no difference between a new deed from an architect and a deed from someone who upgrades to a new house and sells their old deed. My point is that the market is potentially going to be flooded with small house deeds more than it is now.
I would guess as with any economy the prices will continue to drop as demand decreases.
SOE can help by introducing more efficient and elaborate housing structures to encourage players to upgrade.
Myself, I would like to see the introduction of rental apartment units =)
