I am looking at the roof of my PA hall, and when I go to the top, I see huge open space. I said to myself, I have to put torches, creatures, and weapons all over the place. I mean, it would make the perfect battle arena for dueling. But, I am now allowed to do that. Please fix this. I would love to hold monthly tourney there. It would be so sweet. A place to goto when u have disputes and whatnot.

That would be cool, the first time i had a house weith the balcony I tried to get furniture out on it didn't work-very dissappointing

This is unlikely to happen soon (like anything else), if at all. The underlying problem is that the roof is considered ON the house (or PA Hall), not IN the house. The devs are aware that people want to do it, but they are working on it. I hate to say it, but it's pointless to start a petition about it, because they are already aware of, and working on, making this possible. Once again, no ETA. Could be week or months, but it will come eventually, if they can do it at all.

Same with furniture colors. Furniture colors will take a long time, because the art team needs to do it all, and they are very busy with other stuff right now (from what I've heard). Apparently multi-hued objects are the worst for them

why is coloring furniture so hard? obviously each piece has a field for "color." they just need an interface for artisans to change it......could it be the same interface that exists for clothes? sounds like a cut and paste code job to me

Err... not exactly.

With 3D models you have textures, which are images. Even in huable objects (such as clothes), those textures still exist, but are just set up different. Essentially the hueable textures have a "blank" color which can be replaced by any color or image (like a bluescreen). At that point, you can change the color. So they need to re-work all of the textures, create and code the furniture change interface, and create the database entries for all the new furniture varieties. In the end, a lot of work.

I understand the issues to make this work. And yah it might be a lot of work....but it's not development. It's stuff that's already in place for other items. It just needs to be implemented with furniture. It would take a couple weeks to do (hell I'll recolor all the textures myself if that helps get it done) and make EVERYONE very happy.

Work is not the same as development. The development is done. Hire an intern or volunteer to do the work.

Heres a though. Make the balconies have a see through roof or a glass roof. But it looks like open air to us. That shouldnt be as hard.

And increase the number of items a PA can hold so you can actually furnish the whole thing with the roof. I know it "cant" be done but damnit my PA is already hitting the limit with it only semi finished in my eyes let alone what I would put up on the roof (think cantina plus, animal house, plus cancun at night). Heh can't they just make the roof be a building of its own right that doors allow you into just as other buildings only count 0 lots and with a glass roof ^_^
