I'm considering becoming a partial architect just so I can make my own factories and such, but I really know nothing about the architect trade. I am mostly wondering what expirementation points really let you do to your structures. Do they let you make them more efficient? What kinds of things do they let you improve. I just want to be able to make myself a a few factories so I don't have to pay exhorbitant prices for them. I have plenty of time and resources, just not a lot of skill points. If someone could explain how expirementation points work for an Architect I would appreciate it.

Expermentation only comes into play for harvesters and the extraction rates. Anything else doesn't matter but if you want good harvesters you have to go for master for that or buy from masters.
