We architects are not the only ones wondering what our role in the GCW is, I received a tell last night which went something like this:
Bob - Heya, you're an architect right ?
Me - Yes that's right, can I help with something ?
Bob - You make things, buildings and stuff ?
Me - Yes
Bob - Well, me and a few Reb mates went over to XCity last night, but when we got off the shuttle we got our asses wiped by these gun things.
Me - A Turrett I would guess
Bob - Yeah, probably, anyway we are thinking of setting up a base and I want you to make me one of them
Me - Ah, sorry, no can do.
Bob - Oh, are you Imp then ?
Me - No I'm neutral, I just can't make turrets
Bob - We got plenty of money, how much ?
Me - No sorry, I can't make them
Bob - What's the matter ? Why won't you make it for me ?
Me - You are missing the point, I didn't say I won't, I said I CAN'T
Bob - OK, I guess you are not Master then, know any Master Architects who can ?
Me - It doesn't work like that, Architects don't make them, they are faction based items
Bob - Oh, that sucks
Me - Quite
Bob - Well what can you make then ?
Me - Well, I can make you Houses, PAs, City Structures, Harvesters stuff like that.
Bob - Not much use to me, anything else ?
Me - I can make Furniture - Chairs, Beds, Armoires, Torches and so on
Bob - Armoire, that sounds cool, I got this RIS stuff at the moment, what stats on the stuff you make ?
Me - Hehe, not Armour, you get that from an Armoursmith, this is an Armoire, it's a piece of furniture, kinda like a chest.
Bob - Hey cool, I want some of those, how much do they hold ?
Me - Actually they don't hold anything, they are just decorative
Bob - What use are they then ?
Me - Quite
Bob - Well is there anything that you can make me that we can use for fighting the Imps ?
Me - Actually no, sorry
Bob - That sucks man, **edit** use are you ?
Me - Quite

That is like saying that the cotton pickers contributed to every major conflict this century by picking the cotton that went to the mills that made the cloth that was used by the tailors to fashion the combat fatigues that the troops wore on active service. So do they all get a Purple Heart ?

Bandola was that an actual conversation or did you dramatize it a tad? Either way its a good point.
I would really like to be able to make GCW structures. It would both give us both away to participate in the GCW and a renewable income source that wouldn't be a pain for our customers like most decay is.
Well, our role is to make the stuffs. That is used to get the stuff that you make stuffs from 
Me I'm pretty close to quiting architect.. all depends how publish 7 goes.
I'd love to make GCW structures. It would spice my game up by 1000%

aside from the armoire part i've had that exact conversation several times. I think every profession contributes something to the GCW except archs (unless you count house griefing which was removed).
