According to TH the old style lamps will also 'glow', but only ones made after the publish, so you will need to make new ones of any you have, I would not throw away my old lights if I were you though, some buildings are already very well lit, so unless they tone down the ambient lighting you may find that you don't actually need a light source unless you want it for aesthetic reasons.
