Thread: they aren't going to go through with the experimentation changes
Wow. Let me repeat: Wow.
I never could get my arms around if this was going to actually affect weapons and armor. The smiths seemed to think so, but I'm still not totally convinced. At least, I have a hard time believing the affect was as large as was argued.
I am disappointed that this means we will probably still be living with the 5% crit fail rate. Last night, I think my crit fail rate was close to 20%. I gave quickly, as at that rate it is totally unfun. I had had a good run for a couple of weeks, so I suppose it just caught up with me, but one crappy day can really ruin my mood with experimentation for a good long while.

I'm curious whether we will see any perfect crafting stations on Tue and whether they will turn out at 45 or above. I know I will be trying.![]()
Hmmm... tomorrow will be a good day to make a schematic or 4. /evilgrin
I'm not sure I understand all of the ins&outs of the proposed experimentation system. It sounded like anyone making something where they wanted to experiment on two separate things (e.g., extraction rate and hopper size) would have been worse off on the new system. On the other hand someone said that some situations where the qualities of named resources were always low (e.g., herb meat) would have been better off on the new system.
I think that on patch day I'll be: 1) making lots of lamps and 2) playing around with different single-line experimentation.
I think this is the one thing I regret about living on TC--I have no warning of changes and can't plan accordingly. If I'd known I woulda been cranking out schematics like crazy.

That's true - I'm making walls, turbines, etc (basically anything that doesnt need experimentation) and leaving the OMU's, HU, Crafting stations, etc for Patch day
.
Now I just have to make some room in my datapad ![]()
Imagine if they woudl have dedicated that time to DE, or any other number of professions.

OT - get yourself a droid or two with a built-in datapad and item storage - they are a life-saver. I keep all my schematics in the droid except the few that I'm actively running in the factories.
I understand that this idea may not be the best for as and ws, but uh can this be an idea that was used by architects then. They wrote that the community was aggainst this idea. I am sorry but did they ask any architects and their customers. People seem to be more upset about having only one day of experimentation changes then a complete change that lasts permently. Dang it I really liked this idea for the patch and was really excited I am sorry to see it got nerfed.
