Well, I was on the verge of giving up after figuring what I was using wasn't quite good enough - and then two amazing successes and a great (used 4-4-2) finally got me to a BER11 medium mineral on mylast attempt. To add to the tension, the server was going down and due to be hotfixed within 15 minutes!
The metal used for the mining unitwas Raso steel - HR994, SR944, UT969 (10+ attempts to get 100%)
It then took around 30 or more attempts to finally crack 100% on the actual harvester schematic, again using Raso steel, Intrusive ore with HR950, SR995, UT915 andstat-free lube oil.
These stats aren'thalf asgood as some of those listed elsewhere, the tool was 14.85% and the crafting station just 38%. No skills tapes were used but a city research bonus was active.
All in all, a total nightmare and mind-blowingly frustrating, but hopefully worth it in the end - especially with the resources and components now on hand to build another 900 machines
Out of curiosity, has anyone made a med BER 11 with a worse combination?

I used steel with UT929 SR998 HR993 and ore with UT938 SR954 HR923 and got BER11 in a research center city with no skill tapes.
Before the experimentation changes, I was able to get BER10 with the same steel but ore with UT843 SR861 HR815. I did consider trying to get BER11 with this ore since I have more supplies of it, but in the end I played it safe and used the higher quality ore since time was against me and I knew that it wouldtake quite a few attempts to get 100% on the experimentation.

I have some NICE steel lying around, but i did not have a chance to try to make 11s.
A fleet of BER-11 mediums would be nice. An extra boost in your collection rate for the same low price...
