Thread: Imopossible to TIP -warning

HAH! LOL! I typed thankfully to a customer who pointed it out. I've been having strange problems with people trying to TIP me on custom orders when they're with me at my vendor.
The problem turned out to be a bed I'd created and stuck in another room ages ago. The bed was named "Ocarsis Bed" when created, and I thought nothing of it. Now, when someone trys to /tip Ocarsis in my house the parser thinks they're trying tosend money to my bed !
The bed is now burnt.
Moral of the story -
•Don't try to personalise furniture after your own name

• Check under the bed before burning.. some of the TIPs may have been successful (!)

haha ya i get this problem with houses as well.. itry to /invite a friend to my group andi invite the house instead.. but of courseitnever accepts. I guess they are not very sociable.

Yep, can't get tips in my store, as it is named 'Bandola Da'Gears..........'
Now how stupid can it get, I guess I should name my store for somebody else ?

Now that's a GREAT Idea Bandola! How about "Ocarsis Architecture" !

This might also happen if you have a random generated name (when you create your character). My character and my wife both have those random names and frequently an NPC (sometimes an NPC like the Junk dealer) will have the same first name. It makes tipping goofy, as well as we frequently get 'combat spam' system messages on our screen when one of these NPC's is attacked.

There's a bank near my shop, there's no need to tip. Or you can just use the vendor.

And there is a happy bloke on Sunrunner getting my money. People /tip Vek and not /tip 'vek

I've had this problem with my crafting stations, so now I have changed naming schema to "by GoCanes" at the end of the name...

My alt is completely untippable....CSR says it will never be fixed and has something to do with my name, Free.

heh my name is not randomized... but i got an email from a guy (competitor of mine) who was saying he could not / tell me while standing by a Thug named Imaka ... well until he killed the thug. He asked me if it was wrong to feel a little joy over that....
