Thread: Question on old harvesters for long-standing Architects...
When I saw the deeds I thought it a bit odd at first that the BER on the heavy mineral was only 7, but after reading several posts I now know that there was a point in time that harvesters only maxxed at BER 7, instead of the 13 we now enjoy.
I've not had a chance to try these out myself (waiting for a "quiet" shift in material before I do, when there's nothing good to mine) but I was wondering if any of the veteran Architects might have an idea or two about this situation?
Thanks.

Well of course the most practical thing to do is to get new ones, and I'd be the first to suggest it. However I know ppl are loath to part with something they paid top dollar for when it first came out so I won't say anything if someone chooses to carry on with what works for them.
I was also curious if these "pre-generation" harvesters were habitually bugged like this, I guess I'm just picking up trivia about old harvesters and the like
Thanks again, the feedback is greatly appreciated.

Ok, I think the best way to look at it is to consider the return on investment. If they buy medium mineral BER10's for say 40k each then they'd recoup their investment in less than a week. And then after that week they'd get 40% more output for 33% less cost as long as they use it.
Another way to look at it. If they had trashed the BER7 heavies and bought BER10 mediums a month ago then they'd have about 80k extra materials and 20k cash extra per harvester by now.

I dunno if it has anything to do with the age of the harvesters or not. I think it has been intermittently reported on and off by various folks. I'm pretty sure it has happened to me on occasion. I haven't seen any trends though.
