Thread: Droid Storage Module?

Or maybe it's called a droid storage unit? Anyway, it's one of the optional components for personal crafting stations. Who makes these? Who gets the schematic? I'm master artisan and master architect but don't recall seeing this schematic. Is it a droid engineer thing like it sounds logically to be? Oh, wait.. this is SOE we're talking about. It's probably a chef schematic. :-)

Anyway, who cooks these up so I can buy a few to test out on some crafting stations?

The droid storage comparments, micro sensor suites and control units can all be built my Master Artisans, this much I'm sure of.

Naturally, however, these components are not under the droid tab, but under the generic tab of the droid/generic crafting tool. Finally, I am pretty sure these items only count towards General Crafting XP, not Droid Crafting XP. This pretty much means any master artisan that has moved into a higher profession that requires specific crafting xp will not be interested in making them.

Lastly, I see no difference between a crafting station with all modules, juiced with experimentation and a stationbuilt with no modules and low quality metal. I would hope that this would change sometime, but there isn't anything we architects build yet that is affected by experimentation.

When my friend became a master artisan, we were pretty excitied that we were going to be building a crafting station that should have extra parts hanging off of it or a different or more detailed UI or something. No such luck, its more of just a master artisan practice mode without the 5% bonus.

Partially correct here, the droid storage compartments are a Novice Droid Engineer item. I'm a master artisan, and have to outsource for my DSC's. On the other hand, if you get a factory for the other master artisan pieces, droid engineers need them to make quite a few of their products, so factory crates sell quite well.

I also just read on another thead that crafting tools and stations now have ratings on them. Though I dont recall seeing this on the patch notes (its must have fallen under the many many many database improvements bullet), that might actually put some value on these components. I'll check that out and post back.

Those modules allow you to create a crafting station with built-in storage. If you're near one that was built properly (I have a Structure one in my house), your crafting tool (in your inventory, NOT on your bar) will show a new Open Input Hopper (or something like that) on the radial menu, at the top.

Open that for 100-item storage. This storage DOES COUNT against your house, so the only current benefit is keeping a clutter-free workspace and not dropping things on the floor and all over the place.

This is correct. I already checked out some previous ones made with no experimentation, crap components, etc. and some that were experimented on. The range of effectiveness is pretty wide. Didn't have the time or resources on me to make the other sub components just then, but I figure I'll make a few with all the bells and whistles and see how high the number can be bumped.
