Do architects earn the respect of customers by purposefully harming other architectsthroughprice undercutting while vindicating themselves under the mantle of fair competition?
If the price of the product is 1-2 credits per resource, then yes, that is price undercutting. You can play semantics all you want, but that price doesn't make it worthwhile to continue in business.
I'm an architect because I love making things. I refuse to sell them so low and hurt my fellow architects, so I bide my time, do a few structures or furniture itemseach day,and routetheextra businessto reputable architects. When people lose their structure due to a problem in game and do not get recompensed for it, they know that they can come to me to help them.

I play the game to have fun, sell a fair few things at a reasonable price for my time and help out guildmates with cheap structures. I'm not going to get into another "what a clown this guy is" debate because we've seen it all before.
If he wants to troll the boards and act as some sort ofclueless charity case, slaving away while his customers go out and enjoy all the other things the game has to offer, that's up to him.
However, what I have noted is his interesting retreat on pricing in recent posts.
Before, according toour chief troll,we were all blithering idiots and clueless businessmen for not following his lead. Miraculously, he sold at around 1.5cr per resource AND still claimed to be able to afford to pay two flunkies to help him out.
He also very kindly explained, in every single post for weeks,where every other architect in the universe was going wrong. Now his claims over price-per-unitselling costs have mysteriously doubled to 3cr+ per unit. Perhaps someone has finally seen the light? We can only hope

I never could type, or spell. Product of the 1960's touchy feely education system. But I would be willing to wager my kids are older than those that start a name calling thread like this one.
You can always tell when you have won an argument with a kid ( and I have had lots of experience with kids ), They attack you personally becuause they cannot stand up to your arguments.

It just struck me.
You are tyring to put me down by calling me young. Dont you think that kind of pidgenholes your age? Not that young is an insult. No adult considers it an insult to be young.
You are trying to belittle my by calling me something that I wish I actually was.
I would give anything to be 10 years olda again, or 18, or 21 or even 30, or 40.

to be honest im a little upset, if i wanted to be called a child i could have just read every post you have ever written on the architect boards regarding architects who are not you...
btw there is a good point someone made on another thread poking fun at you to ammuse us sane architect.....

There is no way you can not be master selling at the prices you do if you claim you are making profit
im just pointing this out to other archs who read these boards so they know to just ignore you like i will after this post.....because you will probably respond to it calling me a kid AGAIN or saying how smart you are and how masters dont know how to sell stuff, or that you won the argument, ya know stupid stuff.
Heres my last comment on the topic of dayln, just ignore him! he obviously doesnt listen so maybe if we just stop talking to him maybe he will stop....i am stoping to this is my last post

The Dayln bashing is getting a little out of hand. Tone it down please. Many of the attacks against him are really unnecessary and often misguided. Repeat after me: Dayln is not the root of everything bad that happens to every Architect.
Oh no, Im pretty new at it,I was in the beta but couldnt playas the game was release becaue of some family issues. A death on both sides ( wife and mine ) and my wife had back surgery a few months ago. She is doing much better now.
I dont call you a child as an insult, I wish I was your age. Im envious, if you want to lord something over me, that is it.
My operation is quite small, I only have the lots of myself and half the lots of 2 partners. I am a casual player so I am not on-line 10 hours a day to do business. My advancment could have been a lot faster if I was not also supporting my two partners that are mostly just grinidn for level in Weaponsmith and Droid engeneer.
I will be master by Friday for sure, But I have only been playing a few weeks. I made so many mistakes in the begining it was funny. But I am a bit more established now and working my way toward master merchant as well.
The other thing most people dont get is that I am not the guy that sells at 2cr per. I am the guy that sells between 2.8 and 3.5 per unit, some things I even sell for closer to 4per. I just defend the guy that sells at 2 per or any price.
No one has the right to tell someone what thier prices should be.
Dayln is the scapegoat because he replies to almostevery post and says just the opposite of what the poster says.
Architects are frustrated with undercutters in general.. Dayln just sticks his neck out far so he takes brunt.
Dayln I have nothing against you personally. Im sure you are a great guy IRL.. Maybe a litte less eagerness to post the same thing in every post would be ok..You arent enlightening everyone, you are just as you like to put it "making them squirm" which isis not hard to do to an architect. The "last in line" profession.
Ease up a bit and so will they.

It is my enthusiasm for SWG that keeps me posting. But I am not worrried about what they say about me. I would rather be in conversations with inteligent people ( young or not ) about the issue themselves.
I doubt we will agree, but that doesnt matter.
As far as my time, yeah I have my employees trained pretty well and so they dont need as much supervision as they used too, so I often waste time here.
In that respect... I am bad
