Thread: need info before i buy my first house
You can only place tatooine or generic houses on Tatooine. When you go do put them down, assuming you're not in a no build zone, a placement window will open up. (It may come back and tell you that you cannot place the Structure in your current state. This just means that it thinks you're stil moving. Don't move, try again, it take 2 or 3 times sometimes.)
Anyway, so a placement window opens up. You move your hypothetical house around, the square it occupies will change colors. The area that is yellow in the placement window indicates places where you can't put it down. This can be due to a creature lair or other structures. The flatter and more empty the land, the more successful.
As you move you house around, you will notice the square it occupies will be either green or red. Green is good. If you click while the space is green, you will probaly be able to look around and see red tape somewhere around you. This will shortly turn into a house. If the space is red, you can't place there. In the placement window, you can change orientation of the structure by right clicking.
You are seeking flat ground devoid of trees and the like.
Occationally, you find a spot that is green in the placement windo but when you place it it says there's not enough room. Try changing the orientation, I think it just ran out of room to place the ramp so that you can get in you place.
Hope this helps,
The answer above touched upon orientation, but just in case it's not clear, right clicking on the mouse while using the placement window will rotate your house/structure 90 degrees each time you do it. ![]()
