How feasable is it to build a medium house without any structural assembley bonus's or experimentation levels (constructuion)? My crafting station is rated 1.4.

I want to build my own medium house, but if it means failing 3 or 4 times in a row because i don't have the needed skill then I will not bother. I guess my question is, does the construction tree and furniture line really make a big difference?

Thanks.

It wont make that much difference, I built my first medium with no furniture and did just fine. I don't think the + to structures either works right or makes much difference.

I leveled up installations and buildings 0 to 4 before I did any furniture or construction skill boxes.

I didn't see any difference in crit failure rates with or without furniture and construction skills.

It can be done. I did it for a bit with Furniture 1 but when I pushed to Furniture 4, my number of crits got less and less. I say push the furniture line. +assembly does help.

It helps more than the so called good station and good tools and good resources theory. Station, tools and resources haven't made a bit fo difference for me. I tried it all. I even sacrificed the live chicken I was swinging over my head when hitting combine. The only thing that made them less was pushing my way up through furniture line.

What bothers me is that this whole crit fail thing is still just a "theory" no one really knows why they happen. Why don't the devs tell us why they happen so we can change what we do to try and avoid them or minimize the chances. Right now it's just random luck. That seems pretty dumb to me.

I have heard that it has to do with the maleability of the resource tho I am not certain this is true.

I think it is fine to build anythign without the extra points. I went installations 4, then buildings 4 before doing anything else. During that time I built tons of things with very few crits ... go for it!

I am there now. I was a master architect but am now 0044.

And it hurts. I ran out of schematics for my high-quality items so I fail a lot more now. I don't have data to say how much more it hurts, by my fail rates are a lot higher than when I had the skills of a master arch.

If you plan on making money as an architect (snicker) then I suggest master arch, all the way.

If you REALLY plan on making money as an architect, I suggest you get installations for and become a miner, and forget the rest of the class (louder snicker).
