45k to expensive??
thats under 4cr per unit for finished product, actually its to cheap /sigh
old problems here
I am a master architect now. I make 50% profit from almost everything I sell (except small stuff). The average response time for a "/yell selling houses, harvesters, factories, medium and large" is about one minute, and then I usually get an order in around 2-5 minutes. And they are huge orders. I'm making money, even though I give half of my resources to my PA.
So I believe this profession is not dead (not yet, at least)
It isnt dead, far from it... the old business enviornment they are used to is dying, but the market is alive and well.
Sadly, 45K is a bit steep for a medium chemical harvester these days. I sell them for 30 and they don't move. I've seen too many going for 25, which is rediculous.
That scares me a little. The first thing that started not being profitable was the small houses, now they sell at such low prices that I don't craft them any more. Will medium harvesters be the next step, and then medium houses, large harvesters, large houses, etc. until we run out of business?
It would make sense as the other players are slowly upgrading now their stuff, so nobody wants a small house any more.
I wouldn't say it's dead in the slightest bit. Over the last few nights, I've sold around 550K worth of structures (with the help of my associate and mentor master arch of course).

If it's dead, does that mean one of us can take your business?
I've sold so much stuff lately, I've had to put several people on the back burner. Tonight, I'll sell two heavy harvs for 100k a piece.
The market's in decline, which means you either adjust your business model, or you go under...That is your choice, and only your choice.
Right now, I'm still happy doing this. And if I don't get any business for a while, so be it. I have a combat class I can fall back on, and go hit a few planets that I've not seen the inside of their cloning chambers.
I don't get what the problem is with pricing. I play on Tarquinas / Naboo. I have been a master for moer than a month. I still rarely sell ANYTHING for less than 4cr per. I make plenty of money (4.5mil banked, 3mil units of resources on hand, and 30 large harvesters). Heck I sell furniture for 10cr per unit for what I mine and 15cr for the hide portions. I do get complaints that my prices are high. When that happens I explain why. Some peolpe leave my shop, others stay and buy. Either way, I still have a hard time keeping installation vendor and furniture vendor stocked.
My prices are still roughly Houses 14/84/160, Harvs 1.5k/21 (min) 45 (others) 160k, Factories 45k, Solar 25k, PA halls 500k.
