Thread: Placing of structures.
Been experiencing allot of weird things with placing harvestors lately. Here is an example I find quite common but no idea as to why it is this way.
Have a medium harvestor down. I upgrade to a large. I destroy the medium, wait a minute or two(if I don't the area that I removed the old does not update to usable space) then go to place my heavy.
The space the two takes up is exactly the same. The space is there, harvestor fits nicely into the rectangular slot, but wont let me place it. Relogging does me no good either.
This happens when the space is tight, and surrounded by other peoples harvestors.
My question is, even though, the "footprint" is the same, do the heavy harvestors have a lower tolerance to hills or gradients?
No idea why it would not fit where I wanted it to go.
Yes.. each structure has a tolerance for a specified amount of slope.
You can se this particularly well with houses which have a basement... they can be placed in spots that have a much higher slope than say small houses.
For harvesters you can often see a part of the "Foundation" of the harvester when there is a little slope.
I would guess (and its only a guess) that the foundation of the heavy isn't as deep. The graphic might be the same, but the value is set differently in the database.
